Anyone take advantage of a "lifetime warranty"?

Many say "lifetime" doesn't apply to normal breakdown of materials. The nonstick coating peeling off is actually considered normal.

Yeah but it makes the lifetime warranty meaningless. They know it isn't going to last a lifetime and know what is going to break down first isn't covered. So the rest of the pan isn't really made to last a lifetime. It's just made well enough to outlast the nonstick coating, which lasts less than a year. It's just a marketing gimmick designed to sucker people into buying a bad pan.

The devil is in the details. My wife's company bought bought Steelcase office furniture with a "lifetime" warranty". Something broke and the warranty claim was denied due to abuse. Abuse was defined as furniture used in office where the normal business day exceeds 10 hours a day, and 50 hours a week. TV stations are 24/7/365 operations.

HAHA reminds me of tire warranties.

It depends. I started off with a mention of The North Face. While they have dialed back stuff like accepting warranty returns at their company owned stores, they still will repair stuff like broken zippers or blown stitching. They won't fix (for free) something like a hole worn through fabric, but they can fix stuff like that for a small charge. Some people have an attachment to classic gear that's no longer in production, and will pay for that.

It's been over a month and I finally got email saying that the replacement (at least I think it is) shipped yesterday. I got a tracking number too. For some reason, FedEx Ground sent it from Alameda (less than 20 miles from me) to a distribution warehouse in Fresno. Still taking one day since it's scheduled to be delivered today.

I just had my Mohen kitchen sink faucet replaced under their lifetime warranty. It's 8 years old and the nut in the handle went causing it to be difficult to turn off and on.
