I am planning a last-minute "Mommy/daughter" trip in April. I would LOVE to take a chance and try to do an 8:00am walkup for breakfast at the MK castle. Has anyone ever attempted this and had it work? I've been calling Disney Dining daily to try to get an ADR with no luck. My dd5 would be thrilled to eat with the princesses!

Personally, I have not heard of anyone getting in just by walking up without ADRs.... I would just call every day until your trip. But, you never know and it could not hurt to try once the park opens.

Good luck! I'm sending good vibes your way. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

um, that would be difficult as with the exception of holiday weeks and early emh you can't get into the park to even ask until the official opening at 9am. The only way to get in early is with a reservation.

And you have to put down a deposit that is substantial enough that no one is going to back out with out some sort of emergency. And even those with 8:30a reservations tend to show up early.

it is one of those things... the line starts with that reservations phone call.

You wouldn't be able to do a walk up for that time as you have to already have an ADR to get in before the park opens. I would just keep calling, even once you get to Disney.

We had an ADR the last trip that we took. We were stuck on the monorail due to some mechanical problems and we were late to our ADR. They gave it to someone else. We still got in about 15 minutes after arriving but I am guessing that person just walked up. Can't say for sure though.

ME ME ME!

In 2001. We already had ADRs there for a couple days later but was curious to see if we could get in then. And they actually said YES. We were absolutely shocked but went on to have a really lovely breakfast with the characters.

BUT, I wouldn't recommend it.

I would definately recommend you keep calling, especially 1-2 days beforehand. Since they do have a deposit requirement, they have a 24 hour(I believe) cancellation policy. So, anyone not wanting to eat on your day will cancel in advance so they don't lose money. Don't give up! Also, the princesses are there for lunch as well, so try asking about that.:thumbsup2

Last time we went, you needed your ADR to get in. They had a list and checked your name.

This might have been possible in the past but not since the dining plan.

I know someone who got in as a walk-up for dinner last year, but I have no idea about breakfast. Sorry.

Have you tried to get a lunch yet???? I would say try to book a lunch and then when you get there call every day to try to get a b-fast....

I always ask when we get to MK if there are any cancellations and have never had one. We have eaten there before but, I think to do it and be able to be a surprise would be great!! We have season passes and go about 5 times a year so I hope that you have better luck. Sending lots of pixie dust your way!!

As I was told at CRT prior to the CC charge with ADRs they had many missed ADRs and more walk ups which is no longer the case. Sorry.

I've heard this is pretty much the hardest ADR to get at Disney... that people call 180 days ahead of time at 7am and don't get it. But good luck! Maybe try Akershus? The princesses are there too although I wasn't crazy about the food.
