Hi

I wondered if anyone as stayed @ SSR. If so I'd appreciate your views and o see if you can answer some ???

1)I understand they have BBQs that you can use -are these gas or do you
have to buy charcoal?

2) What is your fave thing to do @ the resort?

3) Has anyone taken a horse & Carriage ride?

Im getting really excited as tomorrow I am down to the 7 days before I go mark.
:goodvibes
Thanks for your help :thumbsup2

The ones I saw were not gas. I didn't notice any, but I would think they're likely to sell the charcoal (or wahtever) in the resort store.

2) What is your fave thing to do @ the resort?

Not strictly at the resort ;), but I enjoy the walk to DD. In the resort, it's beautiful to sit and look over at DD in the evening with the lights on the water :cloud9:

3) Has anyone taken a horse & Carriage ride?

Sorry, can't help with this one!

Hope you have a wonderful trip :teeth:

Sorry i can not answer all the questions, stayed at SSR, in April, our best thing to do at the resort was to use the swimming pool, it was great in the afternoon, with the games for kids and adults, be prepared to hola hoop :thumbsup2

I loved to walk around the resort on the evening nice and relaxing.

Not done the horse and carriage, and not used the BBQ

Hi

You will love it the resort is amazing :cheer2:

The bbq are charcoal I think, our balcony overlooked DDD and many evening people would walk past our balcony with charcoal, bags of food and packs of beer, it looks like they intended to have lots off fun, it was all I could do to stop DH from walking up there an scrounging a steak. Also, one night in the jacuzzi an American lady was trying to get us to take her left over charcoal as she was going home the next day

Our favourite thing to do was the walk to DDD in the evenings, we also enjoyed the quiet pool.

I cannot help you out with the carriage ride, but it is definately something we want to do in October.

Have a wonderful time, let us know what you think when you got back, also the new Turf Grill is open so if you eat there, please let me know what you think  I am dancing for you

They only have the charcoal ones they are set up near the quiel pool and have benches which are under cover.Looked in walmart and they have the instant light charcoal and $1 tonges and things But if you ask front desk they can suply you with some if you are in a studio, think in bigger rooms they are standard issue.Take some tin foil to sit on top as they can be dirty from outher BBQsl

Where did you see people fishing at SSR, Paul? DH always takes a fishing rod with him, but couldn't find anywhere at SSR to fish, so drives down to OKW where he has a couple of favourite spots ;).

(It is on-topic, as fishing is DH's favourite thing to do anywhere! :teeth: )

They do a fishing trip think it departs from the dock near the golf club part of ssr i know its early in the morning before the boats start running.Would check frount desk for times and prices hillary.I am not too sure but you can do fishing trips on most of the lagoons round disney we have pased them when we have rented boats at poly

Hi :wave2: we are just back

1)I understand they have BBQs that you can use -are these gas or do you

they are charcoal. people were using them at lunchtime when we were there so I did notice the charcoal

2) What is your fave thing to do @ the resort?

everything :rotfl: loved everything about the resort. walk to DTD, ride on the boat to DTD. sitting by the quiet pool and I mean quiet pool . I found it so hard to comprehend that with the size of the resort it was just not noisey or appear busy. the whole place was quiet and relaxing with no noise. we had a DTD view and still no noise.

Eat at the new Turf Grill and again it was really nice. Nice meal, nice service, nice view and I felt plenty of choise.

3) Has anyone taken a horse & Carriage ride?

didn't take a ride but they were on when we were there . ran from 7 pm to 11 pm and I think it was $35 for 4.

there were people using them.

opps being honest did have one complaint :guilty: the guy at the entrance into the resort was really rude on a couple of occassions. my husband couldn't quite get to grips as to what to show them to get into the resort i.e. the dvs card or the room key and he just kept shaking his head being rude.

sooooooooooo I reported him. I know that wasn't maybe a very nice thing for me to do but felt he was so rude and he wasn't being very disney. + felt our dues were paying for him and he was not being nice. it was our first time on disney property so he should have had more patience or at least waited until we drove away fully before he shook his head at us in disgust.

one tip. take inscet repelent with you. something was definaltey biting at night :thumbsup2 even the boat drivers at DTD were talking about bein bitten. nothing major just wee bites everywhere and itchy.

Hi Helen :wave2: I know :( but we felt we were there for weeks it was so relaxing the 2 weeks didn't fly by which I thought was great. SSR was just so so nice :thumbsup2 . this time next week you will be over there :thumbsup2 we were in Congress Park but all of it is truely lovely. I can see it might be to quiet for some compaired to say Boardwalk but honestly we loved every bit of it. Turf Club was far better than we had expected because we had read that many reports about the lack or disappointment of eating at SSR. Meal and scenery and service was really nice. walk to DTD took us 15 mins tops. infact it was quicker to walk than take the boat. if you stayed at the other end it would be longer to walk but there is plenty of bit say at the boat dock to park you car and then either take the boat or if you wanted a leisurely walk over to DTD.

we had a 6 hr delay going out but didn't let it spoil our holiday as these things happen and coming back the flight was on time.

we were in Premair Gold which compairing it to what our cousin told us about First Choice doesn't appear to be as good however we found it well worth the money. drinks (apart from spirits) were free. soft drinks, teas, hot chocolate etc. all free. they got real plates etc on First Choice we never but that doesn't bother us. the seats were great, food was good, inflight entertainment was good and the air stewards were very helpful and nice .

can't fault anything about the flight even though we were delayed but then that can happen to any flight.
would definately use them again . thumbs up for us
