Wondering if we stay at one of the hotels right by Toy Story lot if it would be a quicker option to jump on a bus there rather than rely on ART. Anyone try this?

There is no issue with it. However, the drivers will make it clear that they are only allowed to stop at the main transportation center and the two stops at the Toy Story lot. There is a sidewalk exiting the lot.

When we stay at the Hilton/Marriott, we would often use the Toy Story shuttle for our mid-day break or at the end of the day. This worked out well for us, since the drop off point was a straight shot to the Hilton (and the Marriott/Sheraton as well..). No trouble with it at all. I don't know if it quicker than ART, since ART dropped off right in front of the hotel, and the TS lot has a small (5-7) minute walk. However, there is always a TS shuttle leaving and the ART often had us waiting a bit unless one happened to be there right as we were leaving.

in june/july 2013 i stayed at sheraton park hotel which is across the street from the toy story parking lot.
i walked over and used the shuttle nearly every day.
one day i did walk to DLR from my hotel which also was fine.
i really enjoyed the shuttle for the way back at night when i was getting tired and had bought souvenirs i didn't feel like walking back with.

We always stay at the Red Lion and it's on Harbor directly in front of the lot. I really need to use the bus to come back from the park sometime, I think.

From the Red Lion, is it fairly easy to enter the lot? Do you have to walk down the sidewalk in front of the hotel and over to the lot, or is there an easy way to get there? About how long is the walk from the hotel to the shuttle pick-off/drop-off area? Thanks!

Well, I'm not sure how kindly they take people hopping over the wall, lol. You have to walk around the corner at Katella and down the street a little bit to get to the front of the lot. I've not done it as of yet, but I can see the whole lot from my hotel room (I never book a room facing the park; you're really too far away to really see any fireworks well, even though they bill those rooms like you can). I would recommend looking at Google Earth so you can visualize what I'm talking about.

I just went and looked myself- it looks like about a block down Katella to get to the main entrance, tbh. If there's another way in, someone please chime in.

You know what, I think I'm confused- don't listen to me, lol.

I'm getting confused as to whether all of the parking back there is TS or something else.

Someone help!

Thanks! I didn't even realize that there was an entrance on Harbor, tbh!

We stayed at the Hyatt Place and used the Toy Story shuttle. I'm not sure if it saved us time over just walking, but it was nice to rest our feet.

Another question, if we go during off peak (park hours 10-8) is the Toy Story lot still open? Hate to book a nearby hotel only to find the lot closed. Also, what is the frequency of the shuttles to the lot? We typically stay at the Hyatt in Orange that provides service every 1/2 hour. Toy Story lot may be more frequent, but factoring in walking time may close the gap a bit.

I've never heard of it being closed.
