Was just wondering if anyone has stayed at Holiday Inn NIkki Bird Hotel as I am due to stay there in a couple of weeks with my family. I would be grateful for any info. :jumping1:

This place is hit or miss........some say it is okay ....when i stayed there i left after 1'st nite and i had paid in full thru priceline.....I am not a real freak when it comes to hotel rooms but this was one of the worst rooms i have ever in my 44 yrs put my feet into....None were avail for me to switch too (yea rite)Good location though...Food not to bad in diner, close too all kinds of restraunts,Got great price thru priceline to wich i got refunded after i sent them pictures and wrote a letter,Even was offered a free stay there again from hotel (Thanks but no thanks)Pool were nice... Check your room before you pay.Take a big can of lysol and a air freshner...Which is pretty much needed at all hotels nowadays...Good Luck i hope this helps....Do a search on this hotel.... Dis ,Tripadvisor, ect

Thanks for that now i am going to worry about what type of room we will get, I have also had some good reviews back about this hotel saying that it's not the best looking hotel but it was clean and tidy and the rooms cleaned everyday. I will just have to wait and see not long to go now.

:) Dont worry!Your hotel is a place to sleep, not live! I hope you get a great room! I really do! I go there (orlando) so much i expect allott from the resort town and i get hot under the collar when things dont meet my expectations.... You will have a great time! And i have stayed in 300.0 dollar a nite hotels that have there poo poo rooms also!I think virgin atlantic does allott of booking for this hotel you might want to check there site for other comments.

one week too long. This place is a dump and I will NEVER stay there again. Let me just say that I refused to take my clothes off to sleep, for fear of what creepy - crawlies might be lurking in the bed. And the bathroom was totally disgusting.

Sorry, but it wasn't worth the $35 per night rate I paid. I'd rather sleep on the street than stay at the Nikki Bird again.

We had a great stay there pre-cruise last April. The room was clean, had a microwave and refrigerator. I enjoyed the 50's theme.

We stayed there the week between Christmas and New Years in '03. We thought it was fine. It is dated, but our room was clean and comfortable. You can't beat the location. It really is the closest on 192 to Disney.

When we were at HIFS last year, we met a couple that had their travel agent move them from the Nikki Bird.

They told us it was horrifically dirty. :( I am sorry to tell you that, but just be prepared. It sounds like it might be on a room by room basis.

We had a good experience when we stayed there last Easter. The room was very clean and in good repair. It may have been recently renovated because I didn't notice any wear and tear on the carpet or fixtures, and the tropical decor looked fresh. It was convenient having the micro and frig., too. I got it through Priceline as well, and was really worried before we went because of some of the negative reviews I read, but was very happy with it once we got there. I think it is pretty well run. It's big, but they have the employees constantly picking up and making things look nice. Pool areas are nice and there is attractive landscaping.

Just take a careful look at your room when you first arrive, and if it isn't very nice, request one in another area. I was fully prepared to do that, but luckily I didn't have to. Good luck!

We stayed here as part of a split stay this past March---

I enjoyed the 50's theme.
-- our room looke straight from the 50's-- not 1 update since. The windows were so thick w/ "gunk" that you had a hard time seeing out. I also got this on priceline for $27/ nt. I HATED it!! When I got home-- I wrote a letter to the Holiday Inn headquarters-- basically telling them I couldn't believe they'd let their name be on this hotel (as all other Holiday Inn's appear to be pretty nice that I've stayed in). Anyhow-- they refund all of my money including my priceline fee. Which was alittle over the top and unexpected. The pool was dirty and it had naked babies in the pool on a daily basis-- no tell me they weren't elminiating in that water (which we didn't go in). The pool furniture was really run down and 1/2 broken. Our carpet had thick black stains all over. If you can change reservations to another hotel I would. There are so many hotels in this area that I wouldn't settle for this one. Sorry:(
