Found this hotel and am really considering it.

We have 5 people and I didn't think the Disney rooms were that great - no way am I paying big bucks for TWO DOUBLE BEDS.

The other thing is we need quite a bit of space.

The Holiday Inn is 1 mile from WDW and has pretty reasonable rates - and a free continental breakfast, plus fridge and microwave in room!

Also, if we can sweet talk them they may give us the senior discount (my dad just turned 50) for more than the 3 days allowed.

Anyone ever stayed in it?? What was it like??

-Matt

PS. We are planning on going mid-January.

Matt, do a search at the top for HIFS and I'm sure you will find lots. We loved it! My kids would stay there in a heartbeat-over BC and Dixie (POR). Good luck, and have an awesome trip!

We really enjoyed HIFS!! The kidsuite was great!! The Free Breakfast was a nice way to start the day!!

We just stayed at the Kids Suites at Holiday Inn last week. LOVED THEM! Perfect if you have 5 in the family because two kids can sleep in the bunk beds, and one on the pull out couch and Mom & Dad in the master bedroom. Very nice breakfast too. We got pizza at the Pizza Hut Express and took it back to our room (we brought pop with us for the fridge).

The pool was nice too, the kids at a lot of fun. And it was only a few minutes drive over to Disney.

You will find more reviews of the HIFS on the Orlando Board.

Just a heads up, if you have 3 adults one of them is going to have to sleep on the pullout. I have never slept on a comfortable pullout.

We stayed at the Residence Inn LBV about a near dt disney for l05 thru quikbook.com for a 2 br 2 bath full kitchen.
Bed mix 2 queens, l king and pullout. Big free bkfst.

You can also rent a 3 br condo for less than $l00 nitely at www.closestodisney.com or thru www.vbro.com

I called and told the HIFS reservations desk that I had a card for a WDW moderate resort for $84 a night and I wanted them to match it. My ressie was for like $126 a night at HIFS in early June. The lady said we can't match that and I told her to give me the very best price she could or I might switch to a moderate. She came back with $89 a night. Can't beat that and it is a great hotel. I would never stay anywhere else with kids.

Hello Free4Life11-
We stayed there twice and it was great. You say that you're a party of 5. The kitchen layout you are talking about is only in the residential suite. Sleeping 5 might be an issue. In the kidsuite you can sleep 6 + 1 small child on a trundle bed. Also, kids eat free at lunch and dinner with paying adults, everyone eats free at huge breakfast buffet. There is a special with losing florida lottery tickets that gets you free adult dinners too.

We have stayed at HIFS with 4 adults and two (small) children in a classic suite, one queen in private room, one queen in semi-private room, and two little kids on the couch... it worked fine for us but it's tight, with the sofa bed pulled out, you can't walk through the living room. We paid 89.00 with the senior rate, which was a great deal for all six of us, but if my parents wern't traveling with us, I would choose a Hawthorne or Embassy Suites type room with a real kitchenette, stocked with real dishes, and larger living room.

DH hated it. He's an executive used to traveling in style. It's definitely got the emphasis on the "F" (family) in HIFS. The restaurant is completely uninspiring, but kids eat free! And the breakfast was free! Get there early because it is very crowded for breakfast. We loved the water park-pool. There is an outdoor pool bar with drinks and snacks and you can rent pool toys ($6/hr). The room was very comfortable for everyone except the pullout-sleepers. The MBR and Bunkbed room were very comfortable and large enough. The bathroom was spacious. There was an inroom coffee maker and they provided the coffee. There's a TV in each room. Video games are extra to rent. There's a nice little arcade. A small gift shop. A charming pond. It's a big resort, but doesn't feel like it. It's very close to WDW front gates and very easily accessible. What else?
