Anyone stayed at Hershey Highmeadow Campground

Just wondering if it's nice. It seems like a good option for our Hershey jaunt since hotels are so $$$. We have a great tent.

We have stayed there annually for the Girl Scout's Jamboree. It is actually a nice campground.

I do not know if you are using a camper or not. If just tenting as we do, the location may be the biggest problem.

One year we were put in a section farthest from the bathrooms, showers and laundry room. It was also a very muddy area. Very inconvenient because it rained for 1 1/2 days.

This past year we were further back as far as the layout of the campground. However, we were strategically located between 2 different shower areas.

The walk to the main building with the laundry room was worth the shower convenience.

Make sure your site is away from the train tracks. There is a VERY LOUD freight train that goes past every 1/2 hour or so. We heard it even inside our camper.

The buses are very convenient to Hershey Park.

We go there almost every year. It is an awesome campground. It has a shuttle to the parks and you get great discounts. Make your reservations now for this summer. It fills up. Stay in Shady Rest if you can not in Crestview. Crestview is near the main road and the railroad tracks.

HP season pass holder here and we camp at HHM alot. I've camped in a tent and a pop up. Biggest problem in a tent is the train. The campground is literally next to an active frieght train track. At night the trains can roll through every 20-30 minutes. I know because I laid awake in my tent everytime the train whistle blows. So if you must tent chose as far away from the tracks as possible! Now camping in a popup was great, we choose to stay close to the bathhouse and pool. It is very convienent to HP.
