I am supposed to do my check in this week and I had been planning on staying up to try and get the earliest PAT I could but I remember reading a post last week or the week before where someone just couldn't get it to come up....So I am wondering if I should just get up really early or stay up???

Not sure which time zone you're in, but I was able to get in to my account to check in at 11 pm central time so I wasn't really staying up all that late. I didn't have any trouble getting it to come up, but I did have to put in my credit card for my onboard account before I could get to the PAT page of the check in.

Ok I am in Central too. I usually go to bed around 9 so 11 is staying up to me :) Thank you so much.

I usually check in a few days late and I have have never had anything past 11. I wouldn't worry about it, get your sleep and do it in the morning. Unless youw ant a cabana on castaway cay those are the ones that go quick.

Yes. I did the 12:01 ET this past weekend. I'm silver so 90 days out. All cabanas were gone (not that I would pay $600 for one anyway). Other things I noticed going fast were 30 min sports simulator packages and Bippity boppity boutique times on sea days. I had no problem getting royal court tea but didn't try any adult dinning reservations this time. I found the latest version of Google Chrome with current windows worked well. No Web hiccups I've heard reported with Apple/Safari.

I stayed up for online check-in to get adult dining reservations based on some recommendations. It was a BIG mistake. I checked the next day and could still get all of the reservations I stayed up late to get. My advice, get some rest and do it in the morning.

We leave on our cruise April 2nd....what is the rush to check-in? Is it simply to reserve activities? I don't plan on reserving any special activities except dinner one night maybe. Am I crazy and missing something super important?

I stayed up to do on-line check in and the link never showed up until 5:45-6am the next morning. From what I've been hearing, that seems to be happening a lot. I still was able to get an early PAT and my choice of excursions. Get some sleep and wake up early.

No, unless you want an early PAT time, a cabana at the cay or brunch on a sea day you should be all good. Certain things book up quickly. Like BBB salon is usually had to get on a sea day so some people want to sign on extra early to get the time they would like. I am more of a flow kind of gal so I do not book much. I love cruises but I am not a hige fan of over scheduling.

We want an early PAT, if possible a Palo brunch but I doubt we get that.
I did the 12:01 my first year and did get dinner and brunch. Times were not optimal but I did get in. Make a late run to Starbucks and stay strong. Especially if you travel during high traffic times. I travel Holidays so it makes a difference.

I did mine last night, OLCI started at exactly 00.00 no issues, and all Adult meals, port adventures, and Spa open, at 00.00.

I stayed up late last night (EST) made ressies, but couldn't get the PAT window to come up til this morning. Wasn't worth staying up. Still got the early PAT this evening (6pm est) when I got home.

I just did mine on Monday (9p PST so not too late for me) - it was a little funky as I was able to get into all of the reservations (brunch, excursions, etc) immediately but I couldn't actually check in right away. I went through and booked everything I wanted and then went back about 30 min later and the check in link was finally there. Not a huge issue, but it was a little funny being backward like that.

Me too...I did end up staying up. I was able to get the Palo brunch I wanted and also an excursion but I tried for about an hour trying to do the check in. I normally wake up at 6am and was able to do it then, but we got the 11am PAT. I was hoping for as early as possible but its fine. I am not sure what would have been different if I would have done it this morning, but I am happy with what I got.
