Hi again! We're looking at staying at a townhouse in Windsor Hills next March for our Disney trip. Has anyone stayed there? Where did you find the best rates?

Thanks!

We are staying there next week. This will be our first time, but it looks really nice and we are looking forward to it.

It depends on how big of a place you are looking for, you can either go to the website windsorhillsrent.com (I think) and submit a generic request and tons of people will e-mail you back about their particular condo.

We are renting a 2 bedroom condo for our stay. There's a master bedroom with a king bed, another room with two twin beds and a queen sized sleeper sofa. My kids are fighting over who gets to sleep on the sofa. :) The guy who owns it has been very helpful and stays on top of things so far.

If you are interested in his condo, the website is:

and a the Photo Show Link:

The rates were very reasonable, actually cheaper than what was listed on his website.

Good luck!

Hi, we just got back from a one-week stay there and LOVED it. We had a 3-bedroom townhouse with a "splash pool" in the back. The pool was about 4 feet at its deepest and the size of a large hot tub. It was perfect for our kids (ages 5 and 7). The house was very clean, and a big plus for me was that it was extremely quiet at night.

It would be tough to get much closer to the parks, and in fact, I think we may have been closer to Animal Kingdom than some of the Disney resorts are!

This was our first time renting a home instead of a hotel, so we were nervous before we got there too, but it turned out to be the best decision for us. The company we rented from was Evergreen Florida Vacation Homes (apparently I'm too new here to be allowed to post URLs, so it's):

I believe the home we stayed in (the "Shangri-La") is the only townhouse they have at Windsor Hills, but they may offer condos or houses there too. Their rates are good, they were very nice, and check-in could not have been easier or faster.

Whether you go through them or someone else, you won't be sorry about staying in Windsor Hills.

I'm glad to hear you had a good experience there. We arrive on Saturday and I'm really looking forward to it.

Was it pretty easy to get to the parks from the neighborhood?

We stayed there in March for the 1st time and loved it!! We stayed here and were very comfortable. The owner was so great and we had here keep our deposit from this year and use toward our week next March. Amenities are awesome and only 5-7 minutes from Animal Kingdom. The main pool is very kid friendly zero entry and a water slide, it was heated and felt great. :thumbsup2

We rented a condo at Windsor Hills for 2 weeks this spring. It was really very nice. Fast and easy to the parks, a main pool that really is terrific for kids (even my water-fearing 2 yr old) and parking was much better than your average hotel. We used windsorhillsrent and I had a wide range of prices to choose from. The prices really vary a lot based on how long your stay is, is internet access/free phone a need, condo vs townhome vs home, and the particular amenities you wanted.

I will note that the orlando property appraiser's website (which many people use to verify ownership) is horrendously behind in updating owners. The condo we stayed in doesn't even appear there, and for a great many of the properties in Windsor hills it doesn't have physical addresses, so the property won't show up on a search. I was really worried since I couldn't verify ownership - but everything was fine.

We just returned from there last week. We rented a 3 bdrm condo and it was awesome. Close to everything and the grounds were beautiful!!! You submit an inquiry on rentwindsorhills.com . You will probably receive a ton of offers.

This is the condo we stayed at:

It was very easy. Route 192 is an east-west route bursting with hotels, restaurants, and tourist shops. The parks are north of that, and Windsor Hills is maybe a mile south of it.

To get to Animal Kingdom, we drove to the intersection of 192, made a left, and maybe a half-mile later, turned right onto Sherbeth Road (the "shortcut" people refer to). Almost immediately you can see Expedition Everest, and within a few minutes you are parking.

For the other parks, you go to 192 and this time turn right. Within 1-2 miles is the exit for Disney World, and once you're on that road, how long it takes depends on which park you're visiting. MGM is first, then Epcot, then Magic Kingdom.

windsorhillsrent is now verifying ownerships, so it is very safe to rent from them, I used them too, had a great experience!
