I have a ressie at the ASMU Family suites and would like to hear anyone's experiences. Thanks for the input.:goodvibes :mickeyjum

We just stayed at the All Star Music suite this month. We had 3 adults, 1 child and 1 toddler. We really enjoyed it. Two of the adults stayed in the bedroom, the other adult and child stayed in the other room and the toddler was in a pack n play. We had enough room, it wasn't crowded at all. We loved having 2 bathrooms! It really helped speed things along in the morning. We stayed in the back of the Jazz building and it only took a couple of minutes to walk to the food court. My kids loved the swimming pools. The pool by the Calypso building had a nightly party that was fun. I don't know how loud it would be at night if you were staying in the Calypso building though. The piano pool seemed very quiet and mellow. The food court was fine. It wasn't a gourmet meal but it worked for us. We ate one meal a day there and even did the pizza to go.

We have already decided that we will stay there again. It was a great location for a family with kids. My daughter would have rather stayed there and used the pool and arcade instead of being at the Magic Kingdom. :sad2:

There were a few negative things that I noticed. The people working there were not as "Disney" friendly as some of the other places at WDW. The people working in the foodcourt seemed very unhappy to be there, almost to the point that they were annoyed that we were interrupting them. Our interraction with them was short lived so it didn't bother me too much. The people at the check-in desk seemed very unfriendly too. They gave us somebody else's check in packet, we had to repeatedly go to the desk to request information that they should have already provided and they never brought our check-out info to us before we left. In addition, we actually had to leave a note for mousekeeping to leave a towel animal for our daughter. Five nights went by and she kept seeing all these little animals in the other windows and she was so disapponted when she didn't get them too.

2a, 2c...hubby and i stayed in the bedroom..older son slept on the larger pull out, daughter slept on the smaller one..LOVED!!! the 2 bathrooms and loved the little kitchen area!

the only thing we didnt love/like was the bus situation....not the best..we did not notice food court issues, we actually found very helpful cms!! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!!!( they just need to improve the busses)

We loved the ASMU Family Suites. The room was perfect for a family of 5.

I would second the bus situation. Long waits and standing room only. And who makes bus waiting lines with no shade in Florida????? Even in the morning during September it was a hot wait.

I second that...at checkout, we were given a survey and I was all about the bus issue on it... we are thinking of renting a car next time...

Buses

I agree they need to provide shade for the bus lines.
I just wanted to add that none of the value resorts have shaded areas for the bus lines.
All Star Music is not the only value resort with that problem.

I have stayed All Star Music 6 times in last 7 years (7- 10 nights each stay and used the buses every day ) and only 1 time did I wait more than 20 minutes for a bus. Usually the wait was less than 15 minutes. I happen to think that the bus service at ASMu is among the best on property.

Most of the value and mod resorts do have crowded buses.
There are a lot of rooms at the values and mods and the drivers do pack a lot guests on the buses.

The good thing is the rides to and from the parks are not very long.

Bus rides are quite short from the ALL Stars according to PassPorter.com

All Star Buses-CBR buses---POPbuses--PO buses--- Contemporary
MK 20 min---- 20 min-----25 min------10 min---20 min(mono)
Epcot 10 min-- 15 min-----20 min------10 min---15 min
MGM 10 min----12 min-----15 min------15 min---20min
AK 10 min------20min-------15 min----15 min---20 min
DTD 15 min----20 min------20 min-----15 min---35 min

It only takes 10 minutes to get to Epcot, MGM and AK from All Stars.
MK is 20 min away. That's the same amount of time it takes on the monorail from the Contemporary.

A WORD ABOUT BUS SHARING

To me Bus Sharing at the All Stars is really a non issue.

In the mornings during Park opening hours each All Star usually has a dedicated bus.
During mid day it is usually just our stop and maybe one more on the way to the parks. On the way back sometimes it is all 3 but often Sports and Movies share and Music has it's own bus back. Each of the All Stars usually has it's own dedicated bus back from the MK.
That is a big plus. It seems like the Music bus stop usually has the shortest of the three All Star bus lines.

I guess some people who stay at POP see all 3
All Star names on the return sign of our bus stop when they head to the POP bus stop and think All Stars also has 3 stops on the way to the park.
(Even when we stop at another AS resort to load up it has not taken more than 5 minutes and we are on our way!)

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.
