Finally cancelled my December ressies at the "might-open-sometime-in-the-future-but-won't-tell-our-guests-anything" DTD Holiday Inn even though they still have yet to tell me that they won't be open in December. [sidebar, sorry]

Booked two nights at the Hawthorn Suites Lake Buena Vista off Palm Parkway based on pretty favorable reviews on TripAdvisor. Has anyone stayed there before? I'd love to hear the good, bad, and ugly. TIA!

We stayed there 2 years ago, and only have good things to say - no bad or ugly! The suite was very roomy, loved the bathroom set up (separate sink area before the shower/toilet), and having the full kitchen was handy. The desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Anything specific you want to know?

Thanks! I just want general info. We added two days to the beginning of our trip and after the opening date for the DTD HI got pushed back (again) I was left trying to find new lodging. Always a little leery of staying at a new hotel. Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay.

We stayed there a week about two years ago and loved it. My son left his Disney crocs by the pool one day and they sat there 24 hours till we remembered where he last had them. It was a great feeling. Breakfast was great!

We have stayed a couple of times, the last time two years ago. Similar comments as above. Love the size of the rooms and the location. Service has been great. Breakfast & the manager's reception are a nice addition. About the worse thing I could add is the size of the pool if you stay during a busy time.

Did you cancel your Holiday Inn ressie?....They have told us that Hilton will honor our ressie.:confused3...Maybe you could wait and see what they'll offer you.

DH and I stayed there for a week a few years ago. We loved it! Clean, roomy, and very convenient. It usually took less time to get to the parks than it did staying onsite with Disney transportation! Only bad thing I can say is that the pool was cccccold...

I did cancel it. I am more than slightly annoyed with the way that Holiday Inn has handled the entire HI Downtown Disney thing. For guests that have/had ressies from Nov. 15 - Jan. 15 to find out that the hotel wasn't going to be open either by checking their HI reservations or online at one forum or another is just wrong. Than when I contacted the company on more than one occasion I was passed from person to person, put on eternal hold and told that I "should probably make my own reservations elsewhere".

I will be writing HI a letter about the entire thing and asking them to close my Priority Club membership.
