I am considering reserving a 3BD/2BA condo at the Grand Palms Resort on Coral Plams Court. Anyone stay there before? If so, could you share your experience. I have a quote for 8 nights totalling $682. Does this sound like a decent price? We will spend most of our time in the parks, so pool slides and lazy rivers aren't needed, only a clean pool. We are going the first week of June 08.

TIA :)

Thanks for the links. That information was very helpful. I didn't find the current one (4/21/08) when I searched a few days ago. I should have waited a day and the answers would have been there. I think I will book this condo.

Thanks again!!

Hi, we stay 3 months just a short drive from these condos and actually looked at them for friend to rent for 3 months...Very nice location, older condo units. There are obviously a fair number of owner occupied units vs. the weekly rentals.
I would feel very comfortable there both for location and appearance of the units. the pool will be small and basic. Best way to Disney is out to 192 turn right and either take the Sherberth road shortcut, especially of going to Animal Kingdom or continue east through about 4 stop lights to the big Disney entrance....

enjoy...Ted

We stayed at Grand Palms last May for 8 nights. It is a nice, clean condo development. We felt very safe there even though it is not a gated community. There is a nice pool area with hot tub, small fitness room, tennis court and bbq area. We did not use anything but the pool one afternoon because we spent all of our time at the parks. Of course, each unit is individually owned. Our unit was newly renovated and very nice. I will be staying there again. The only reason I'm not staying there this year is because we just decided last week that we could go this year and the unit was already booked :sad1:. $682 does not sound bad if that includes tax, cleaning, etc. Last year I only paid $440, but they have since increased the rates. Which unit are you staying in?

I recommend using the new Western Way entrance to Disney. It was fast and not crowded at all. PM me if you have questions. I have some pics of our unit I will share with you.

Hi, agree Western Way would be perfect...take new toll 429 north a couple of miles and you are there...

We will be staying in 8828A (first floor 3/2 unit). It looks great in the pictures (but what condo doesn't) and the reviews on the owner's website are very positive. I've talked to the owner a few times and feel pretty comfortable. The total for 8 nights including tax and cleaning fee is $683.

Here's the website to the condo. I hope it's ok to post it here.

Thanks to all who posted feedback on the condo as well as the driving directions. We usually stay onsite at Universal so this is a big change for us this year. Can't wait to get back to Disney.

This is the 3 bedroom "sister" of the 2 bedroom we stayed in last year. You will love it. It looks just like the pictures and is very clean. Everything you could possibly need is there. Like I said, we would have stayed there again this year but it just wasn't available when I needed it. Enjoy your trip and relax, it is a great unit.

Thanks for confirming this is a nice condo. It's our first time renting a condo and the price seems so reasonable. "If it's too good to be true it probably is" keeps going through my head. Getting a really nice clean place is just icing on the cake. We looked at WH but it just seems so large and we really are planning on being at the parks most of the time, so this condo seems to meet our needs for space, $ and resort activities.

Thanks again!

Stayed there at Christmas ........wish i could go back next month.....booked up.....Oh well hotwire here we go....

1. Regarding final payment, I will probably pay Gigi (the owner of the condo we are renting in Grand Palms) with a credit card. If you paid by this method, were you charged a processing fee to do this and if so, do you remember what the % was?

2. Has anyone else stayed at Grand Palms lately? If so, would you mind sharing your experience with me?

Thank you

When I paid via card it was thru paypal. I do not remember if there was a fee associated with paypal or not. Gigi did not charge one.

I did hear from momof2pirates awhile back. She stated that everything was still wonderful.

Just wondering if any has stayed at either of Gigi's condos lately? If so, would love to hear about your experience. We are schd. to stay there next month!!!!
