Anyone started Christmas shopping yet? What, Where and for who?

Amazon had their Prime Day. My older DS had been wanting a tablet, I convinced him that Kindle 10 was great. My soon to be 4 year olds will be getting the kids kindle fire. I also got DH a Kindle.

Kroger had buy a Cracker Barrel gift card, get $5 off your groceries, so I bought a $25 to stick in my MILs stocking

There was a sale on clothes at Crazy 8...since there was a sale and free shipping over a certain amount, I got each kid an outfit that I can put under the tree.

I also just ordered each of our kids a DVD from the Disney Movie Club because they had Zootopia, Finding Dory, and BFG available.

DH did a lot of OT recently, so it was good to get a few things now. We have a Christmas Club savings account that matures Nov 1, I believe, so I'll try to wait for anything else.

MapleGirl can you tell me more about camelcamelcamel? Thanks!
http://camelcamelcamel.com/ is a website that tracks the prices for item on amazon.com. You copy and paste the item's URL and get a graph that shows how the price has changed in the last year or 2. You can set up alerts so you get an email when item X is priced at $Y. You can also import your amazon wishlist and easily track everything you have your eye one. Before I make a big amazon purchase I check camelcamelcamel to see if I am paying the best price.

Forgot to add... I picked up a ton of cute socks and accessories from Gymboree for DD7 and DS4 for about $1.00 each. We have the large Pottery barn Kids stockings, so these really help to fill them up on the cheap!

I am almost done! Wa-hoo! Last week, while in a neighboring town that has more stores, I hit a few good clearance areas and picked up some small things and then I went online and ordered gift cards! Other years, I've agonized about find "just the right gift" and then a few days before Christmas, broke down and bought gift cards. This year, I am NOT going to agonize over gift choices and I am going straight to gift cards. Granted, each will be taped to a small toy/gift, but in the end, I know the recipients like the freedom to choose their own gifts (mostly teens).

Who knows, without the stress of shopping this year, maybe I'll actually bake! :tilt:

The Shop for a Cause sale is this weekend! $5 gets you a 25% discount, on top of a 15-20% discount on many things with coupon code SUPER. I find this sale makes for some killer deals on clearance designer purses. Last year, I got DD16 a Michael Kors bag she had been drooling over, for about 70% off the regular price. I wasn't expecting to get it for her since the normal price was NOT something I would spend on a purse for a teenager, but with all the discounts it came into an acceptable price range and I caved and got it for her. This year I picked her up a Dooney & Bourke crossbody. Not as flashy as Michael Kors, but I know she'll love it.

The discount doesn't work on all brands - I know Coach is excluded - but it does work on many where you don't normally find big discounts.

Clothing can also be a good deal with the discount combinations. Unfortunately shoes aren't quite as great a deal - the 25% Shop for a Cause discount applies, but not the SUPER coupon code. If shoes were included I probably wouldn't sleep at all this weekend and spend 48 hours solid scouring the site for deals LOL

I really need to stop shopping now for DD. I have an appropriate amount for her and any more will just be excessive and unnecessary. I think I need to start a "I need to STOP Christmas Shopping" support thread! ;)
Where can I go on the website to purchase the shop for cause for $5 for the discount. I have been eyeing a Kors bag I want.

Unfortunately it was only available this past Saturday and Sunday. It is no longer available.

I got my dd's "big" gift today, I pre-ordered her the galaxy nintendo 3ds. She didn't ask for it, but I know she's been wanting a pink one but I think she'll love the galaxy print more. No deal on that, but that is okay. I get deals on a couple games.
I also got her an aromatherapy oil diffuser from Amazon that I spent $0 OOP on. It's price went down, plus there was a coupon, and I used some CC points and the remaining $2 I used a GC I got for my birthday.
Now I just need to find some good quality oils for it.
I'm debating on getting her the Dooney & Bourke AliceIW wristlet and filling it with GCs for gas and fast food places. Its cute and she loves AIW but not sure if she'd use it.
I ordered myself the D&B Dumbo wristlet that I was going to tell dh was my Christmas present (I do my own shopping :)) but he asked me what I wanted for our anniversary so that will be for that. Now I have to find something else for myself for Christmas, poor me LOL.

In just over 2 weeks me and dh will be at F&W so I'm hoping to get the bulk of my shopping for everyone else done while we are there.

I know in the past I have seen a thread over on the family board with all kind of great gift suggestions. I thought it was usually up and going strong by now but I haven't seen it.

Which diffuser did you get?

I haven't seen the lady who usually starts the Christmas thread in a while. But it was called the "5th Annual Christmas Thread" last year.

Well, I'm proud of myself, I did some wrapping. Not a lot (but hey--I've got time, right?), but I started. DH and DS19 just got back from a trip to Scotland and Ireland, and bought a few items for DD21 and my IL. So, I wrapped those. Probably in October, I'll set up my wrapping station in my walk-in closet. Or at least in my bedroom, now that DS10 is officially a non-believer. I like to wrap as I go, but I have to keep a written list of what I have for each person. There are 6 of us, not including expended family, and I confuse easily.

Plus, we do a "Silly Santa" game on Christmas Eve, sort of like a Yankee Swap, where you pick a presents and can steal them. Some are joke gifts, some are decent, some have cash or a gift card tucked into them. I wrap all of those in the same wrapping paper. A week later, I'll be as surprised as anyone when I open mine!

I started shopping a while ago but only because I knew my kids wanted new ski stuff and I'm sick of missing the awesome sales early spring every year because of $$. Well this year I planned it out so I'd have the money needed. I got my 16 yr old son twin tip skis and bindings with an awesome deal and my 13 Yr old daughter new ski boots she's been asking for, also with a great deal. Today at target I saw some deadpool socks and boxers I couldn't resist buying for my brother, he's a huge fan. After buying that I feel like I'm in full Christmas shopping mode. I downloaded my xmas app (Santa's Bag) to keep me on track and more importantly to track what I buy and how much I spend. We have a big family trip to Disney coming up in October (DH's bucket list trip) which means much less for Christmas shopping this year. I'm going to have to be extra vigilant about staying on top of the sales so I can stretch those $$'s out.

I got her this one yesterday, it was $17.xx plus a 30% off coupon bringing it to $12.00. I don't see the coupon code on the page anymore so it must have expired.

I don't see a link or picture? Can you post it again, I am planning on getting some for a few people and this sounds like a great price!

ETA: thanks so much for everyone who is listing what they're getting. I have only bought things that I've seen on this thread so far, and I've gotten great deals on them. And tonight I learned about the existence of lucky charms marshmallows and Minecraft movie maker, so I added those to my list. My kids will be thrilled with both!

Not yet, but I have a list. I also keep a few random things in our closet at all times. My girls are 7 and 10 so we are always going to birthday parties. If I find something on sale, I grab it.
