Anyone Sell Usborne Books? Need info/advice.

I see the Tastefully Simple thread and it reminded me that I have all this Usborne info sitting on the desk next to me. I'm supposed to be mulling it over. It's funny because I considered it about 5 years ago when my youngest was born, but for some reason didn't do it. Now I'm back to working and STILL think about selling UB.

I don't know anyone who does this, so I have nobody to ask info about it. My main concern is that we live in a very rural area, and aside from traveling really far (gas prices too high), how can I actually sell enough to make it worth it. There is a small circle of friends and I don't want to always be "hounding" the same people.

I do. - I signed up to sell them mostly because I love them myself!

When I first started, I did a few parties, but what I really like is doing booths at craft fairs, etc. - I'm like you, in that I don't like to bug friends. I want to help people find the books they're already looking for, rather than get someone buy them because they like me.

I don't make a ton at it, as it's just a second, "fun" job for me (I substitute teach during the year) and I don't put in much time. I know some people who do it as a full time job, make really good money, and even earn the trips!

Where you are worried about being in a rural area, I would check out the web site sales option. If you know someone who would let you post a link on their site, etc., you might be able to get a lot of customers that way. - Being rural may actually help you, as there are probably no big book stores around.
