I am wondering if anyone sells crafts to make money for their next trip.
What is most successful for you etsy? craft fairs? something ?

I have tried to/am trying to, but am not very successful. I never seem to create the items that people want!

I crochet Christmas ornaments-I'm lucky in that my aunt works in a large place and she takes them in and sells them for me. Snowflakes, crosses, angels, etc. I usually make a hundred or so, not much but every little bit helps.

My mom & I have done craft shows since I was 12 & I'm in my 60's now. I always set aside part of my sales after taxes etc for my Disney trips. The other always goes towards Christmas. It's a tough road to go down doing shows since most of the shows have high entry fees and sometimes there are waiting lists for the shows. I've also tried selling online & that is hard when you work a full time job. Every year I create one or 2 new items. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Good luck!!

I have done a few shows, but usually leave disappointed. I sell some just not as much as i had hoped for.

I am just working on starting a small business. I make jewelry :) I found my love for it this past year when I was out of work for about 9-12 months. I'm not quite back to work yet like I was so I'm hoping it'll be an income filler, but either way I enjoy it at least.
I am trying to create a stock of bracelets before I try my hand at a craft show for the first time.
I am hoping to in the long run make custom charms and raise money for charity.

I will tell you that in Florida the craft show circuit we do is overrun with jewelry & the crafters do complain that they don't make a lot of $$ per show. Most organizers try to limit the amount of jewelry makers per show, too. I did sell Swarovski Crystal bracelets as part of my various items sold but even those died out quickly. JMHO.

A friend of mine sold crafts and jewelry at a local craft show a few times - she said she usually lost money so she doesn't sell there anymore.
She set herself up with an etsy store and tried that for a year but still didn't sell as much as she needed to make money so she closed it and gave up trying to sell homemade crafts.

I make jewelry as a hobby for family members, myself and the occasional friend - I'd never try selling it though since there is so much of it out on the internet already.

Good luck!
