Anyone see Whale Rider?

I just saw this movie today! I recommend this to anyone who really wants to see a GOOD, deep movie. I took my dh and ds (7) and they BOTH loved it. My dh said it is the best movie he has seen in a long time!

This movie should win Best Movie hands down and the 11 year old actress should win Best Actress! She really pulled off the lead in this movie.

Anyone else see it and what did you think?

I don't think i have even heard advertisements for it, yet.

I REALLY wish they would release it locally. Unfortunately, the only place in the area is over an hour away and the times are terrible! I think it's looked upon as an art film and not something people would enjoy, but I have read the synopsis and the reviews and wish it would be released in more theaters. From what I have read it's something that will totally be good for girls to see.

I do hope it comes closer. We really want to see it.

I saw it a few weeks ago, I thought it was really great. I loved the girl in it, she was an absolutely incredible actress for any age, but especially for someone so young.
