Anyone see this? (Discovery Island)

That is WILD! Reminds me of some sort of cross between Lost and Jurassic Park.

There was a link to that blog in the River Country thread. I have my suspicions that disney actually sponsored this to detract from others trying to be "the first".

No, if you read the rest of the guys blog, he sneaks into deserted areas and buildings all the time. He's a photographer who often takes photos of nude models in these locations. No models at Discovery Island, but read his blog and you'll see plenty.;)

I am sure this fella and his friends did do this with out the knowledge of Disney based on his apparent other ventures, however I find it interesting that the lights appear to be on in the storage building of this part? I also find it interesting that Disney when it abandons property doesn't spend just a few days and time demolishing and cleaning up the site? I suppose when they make a decision to close something, it is never really final and the politics of the sites allow them to thoroughly deteriorate?

is it just me or are the lights on in the picture that is with this caption? Maybe they have a switch with live power, but that too seems strange after over 10 years being abandoned.
"Venturing further into the island, we came across a storage building that was filled with all sorts of left over paperwork, photos, and some preserved snakes in odd containers"

If you read one of the other River Country topics, it tells you that there's still a "maintenance" dock. There were several birds that decided they didn't want to relocate to Animal Kingdom. So they still go over there to feed them.

It doesn't surprise me that there's still power at the island.... Maybe there's underwater wiring from the power plant that no one decided to pull out at the closing.
