anyone rent a house through vrbo.com

We are looking at renting a 3 bdrm/2ba house through an owner on vrbo.com. The house looks awesome, the price is definitely awesome, it almost seems too good to be true. Has anyone had any experience with renting direct from an owner? Am I just being too skeptical? I have emailed the owner several times, and it definitely seems legit. This is going to be our first trip to WDW with the kids, so I don't want to get burned. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks

we too are looking to rent a house, 8 bed and 6 bath, for fourteen of us for a 50th wedding anniversary/family reunion. Would be very interested in your experiences!

I am renting one in august. Ask the owner if he will give you the name of the management compnay he uses to run his house. Our owner did and i got there number from information. They were very helpful and answered all my question. This made me feel better, i had nightmares about getting down there and finding out the house didnt exist, especialy since the owner lives in england. Many of the owner seem to live there i noticed.
Ill let you know how it is, but we are not going till august.

Yes, he did give us the name of the property management company, maybe I will try to call them. This owner too is from Scotland, so I just want to make sure the house really exsists. Please let me know how you make out in August, we are not going until March 2002.

Hi, nothing but good experiences with vrbo.com...I feel the people take better care of property, work very hard to make you comfortable, and the prices are lower.....I always ask for the low season as I know they are overbuilt and WANT to rent to you...good luck....Ted

We too found a house to rent over the internet... I asked the owner if they were licensed through the FL Division of Hotels and Restaurants - once I recieved the license number I called the bureau and verified all information as well as speaking to the person that inspects the home... she verified the home is wonderful and the neighborhood it is located. She was even familiar with the owner and said they are reputable.

This made me feel much better. Good luck.
