Anyone renew their Sirius XM radio subscription lately?

I used the chat to cancel last week, it took FOREVER and they tried hard to persuade me to stay. The last offer was 2.99 a month for just the service while in the car but I was strong and again said please cancel.

SiriusXM is too expensive. I canceled SiriusXM and just listen to Pandora. The feee version only plays one minute of ads after several songs and I can listen to it anywhere.

My car’s trial expired about two years ago. After getting no less than 10 emails a week begging me to come back I finally resubscribed recently for $4/month. Plus they sent me a digital $20 Visa gift card. Coincidentally, I used the gift card to pre-order the 2025 Birnbaum guide, so there’s a Disney connection. I have a lifetime subscription that I bought close to 20 years ago and to be honest I rarely listen to it, although I’ve recently gotten into listening to old Dead shows on The Grateful Dead Channel.

Anyone still using the old-school radios? I have a small radio and a docking "boombox" at my desk at work. I don't have any streaming or the app, I just use the boombox. I wonder how many radio users there still are.

Got a transistor that my little grandson enjoys when he comes over.

We have an ordinary boombox radio in the bathroom. Its only a couple years old, so I think a phone source can also be connected to it.

I recently renewed a basic version of Sirius XM for the car at $4.99/month.

For the Onyx? I have an Onyx in my basement still along with the home docking kit that let me use it with my stereo receiver from back in like 2005. No service, now that my car subscription includes streaming I'll stream anywhere that I'm not in my car. I've even got it set up to run through my Google Home devices. Always wanted the boombox but never found the extra money to get one.

No, mine isn't the Onyx, I think it's even older than that one. I have the docking station so I can set it up in my car but I mostly just use it at work. Our vehicles are old and we haven't upgraded the radios. 8-)

So they probably don't cut deals on these subscriptions since they are so few.

Just did and they were going to let me cancel unless I took the 5.99 option. The 2.99 one doesn't have some of the stations we like.

I have two Onyxs, and three cars so I would move them between cars as need be. When I bought my 1965 Mustang, I bought the boom box to run in the back seat as I did not want to replace the original AM radio with a Sirius capable one nor did I want to cut holes in the interior to put in speakers.
When we bought our 2020 Camry, it has a Sirius capable radio so I deactivated one Onyx. Our 2018 Ford has a Sirius button on the face of the radio, but you don't get the electronics unless your car has factory navigation too. Apparently Ford uses the same faceplate on all their radios with the Sirius button.
My level of service is not high (expensive) enough to give me access to the app, but not sure I would ever use that. I have Dish Network and they include Sirius for free so we just listen over the TV. Rented a vehicle locally week before last and the Sirius was not activated. That was interesting. Haven't listened to local radio in years and all my go to radio stations have changed formats to formats I wouldn't/couldn't listen to.

SiriusXM keeps sending me emails to renew for $4.99/month with a free upgrade to Platinum for 12 months. They were also offering a free set of headphones, although I didn't look to see what kind they were. I cancelled my subscription three months ago. I might call to see what the taxes and fees are for the year, as long as I can use their giftcard.

That’s a great price if you use the platform. I have a 5 per month platinum after many years of no discounts. I also have found that using the app the music sounds great through my ear plugs and the car system is also better and they have added more channels to the car. Last year it was about 240 this year it’s over 300.

I have never figured out why music stations and apps such as Sirius XM Radio have become popular today and what I see is these music stations and apps replacing traditional radio stations and how Sirius XM Radio continues to be popular I'll never understand. But it seems no matter what station you have on Sirius XM Radio it'll just play the same song lineup over and over again. I mean the idea of this invention is genius but you can do the same thing with your stereos and MP3 players. The only reason I think people pay a lot of money for Sirius XM Radio is so that they can listen to exclusive channels on artists like Billy Joel or Toby Keith and celebrity podcasts. Another music streaming service I do like but like Sirius XM repeats the same songs is Pandora and I cannot get how Pandora became popular but they always have commercials and an annoying skip limit and why Pandora Plus is pricey is beyond me. If you are looking for an alternative to Sirius XM Radio I highly recommend an app called MyTuner that has many radio stations from around the world and America and best of all it's free

I've had Sirius XM for years now. I've never had the issue with the same song lineup over and over again. Maybe it's cause I don't listen to the top 40 stations. I listen to 80s on 8, Dave Matthews, the Beatles, and sports. Having access to play by play for all sports is worth the cost.

I have had XM radio for many years and never had any problems with music, news or sport choices. Love the variety and able to get my price where is feel it’s reasonable.

My work day would be sad without it! I listen at work and enjoy the commercial-free music channels and the Howard Stern Show. I regularly enjoy 5 of the music channels on my Sirius radio and can switch to others if I get bored of those.

I find regular radio extremely repetitive and full of commercials and we cannot stream music from the internet (my employer blocks it. They even block Spotify on the wifi).
