Anyone remember the Pueblo Room?

I love reminiscing about WDW in the '70s and '80s, when it was known as "the Vacation Kingdom of the World."

Does anyone remember a restaurant in the Contemporary called the Pueblo Room? It shared space with the Terrace Cafe and Buffeteria (now Chef Mickey's and Concourse Steakhouse). It served Italian food, name notwithstanding; it was during the time when the Contemporary strained to keep its Tex-Mex theme (remember the "Fiesta" Fun Center and the strolling mariachi band??).

I ate a meal there in 1987, so I'm wondering when it opened and closed.

It's funny when I consider how only two restaurants populate the Grand Canyon Concourse. I seem to remember a slew of them in the early days.

Yes, but can't remember which of the restaurants we ate in. That was before Chef Mickey's moved there from DTD.

what about the mexican restaurant in the hhmmmm the swan or the dolphin and it was a mexican jail , very good and hugh dinners, now i think its a italian rest.

Im probably in the minority, but I preferred Chef Mickey's when it was the Village Restaurant at the Village Marketplace (now DTD). It used to feature a delicious brunch...it was the only moderately priced sit-down restaurant in the area.

Actually, Juan and Only's is now Fresh at the Dolphin. You might be thinking of Palio at the Swan.

ok, i figured it out, juan and onlys was not there at the dolphin a few years ago, it was another restaurant after that, i thought it was italian/american, because we did eat there and then it was completely gone just within a couple of years. i know about palo, we ate there 2 years ago at the swan, love that place.

I used to love the Peublo Room - especially before they opened the convention center. You used to get some great views looking over to the Poly etc. from the large windows.

I also used to love the old Village Resturant (which later turned in to Chef Mickey's). Another place for a great meal.

Oh, so the Pueblo Room was located where the Outer Rim is now?

We never dined at the Pueblo Room. Don't think the description in the old Official Guide made it sound very appealing. Also never made it to more formal restaurant on the 3rd or 4th level although it did sound good to me.

Do remember the Village Restaurant. And how about the Heidelburg Deli?

Thanks for that awesome link.
Talk about going down memory lane. A whole day's worth of work went down the tubes visiting those sights. Oh well, it'll still be there tomorrow.

Boy do I miss the the Top of the World Sunday brunch. It was soooo good. It was a great way to end the visit.
