It's either Howard Cosell or a good impersonator:

"The place, the big Shea, Shea stadium, the championship resting on the back of this player"

It's from a contest, and has me stumped, I cannot figure it out.

Don't know it, but if it's Shea Stadium it could be about the Mets (who have played there since 1964, and still play there) or the Jets (who don't play at Shea anymore, they left in 1983 or 84). So maybe that'll help someone else.

Hmm I don't know-if it's a WDW thing, together with Cosell, I'm thinking ABC-Monday Night Football..Jets?
Joe Namath?
I see there was an AFL championship game at Shea in 1968. I don;t know if it was an ABC thing or if Cosell announced it though.

I think Cosell started with Monday Night Football in 1971.

Do they play sound clips like this at the All Star Sports resort? Pop Century? Or Wide World of Sports? I've not been to any of these places. I've been to the ESPN Restaurant on the Boardwalk, but I don't recall hearing them playing stuff like this in the background.

Hi,

I remember hearing it during the Superstar Television attraction that was in MGM some years ago. People from the audience had the chance to play a part in different t.v. shows and in this case, a young boy (or girl) was chosen to play the part of a baseball player interviewed by Howard Cosell.

Hope it helps. I'm sure that's what you are looking for.

Thanks so much, Richard! I thought of that place, but it's been 11 years or so since I've been there, and there are no attraction scripts or sound recordings from it that I could find.

And thanks to everyone else for their help, too! :)
