Anyone recently do The St. John Trunk Bay Beach & any other suggestions for these ports?

I’d love to hear someone’s experience on this Port adventure who has gone this year. We aren’t really beach people, so it doesn’t really excite us but I’ve heard wonderful things about this beach, and St Thomas. I’m just wondering if it’s worth doing, or we should skip it.

I was also looking at a few other options in Tortola and other suggestions for St Thomas if we don’t do the Truck Bay Port Adventure.

We have done this tour pre-pandemic. We thought it was 1) too short 2) too long a time on the water taxi, making us a little nauseous.

What we did in June 2022 on the Fantasy is St. John's on our own. It is a little convoluted. Taxi from the ship to Red Hook harbor ($10 PP). Water Taxi leaves on the hour (9:00) (~$8.25 PP). Taxi to Trunk Bay (~$ 8pp). You can be on the beach by 9:30. Entrance to Trunk Bay is $5 pp. Beach chair is $10 pp. Just make sure you are on the 2:00 water taxi back to St. Thomas. Very nice snorkel area.

In June the beach was very windy but we spent most of the time in the water. There are changing areas, food trucks and chair/snorkel rentals.

We also spent about 1 hour shopping by the harbor port with the cute little shops.

We like this beach more than crowded Megans Bay.

Hope this helps.
