Curious if anyone has Proposed at Disney since the new promotion has been in effect? I ask this because I am next month and told them that we will be Celebrating our engagement. The issue is Ill be proposing after we check on the first day. I'm in fear that it will be on the reservation saying we are celebrating our engagement and the CM checking us in will bring it up. fwiw I did say it will be happening once we are there and id like it to be kept quiet till after the first day of our trip. Has anyone been in the same situation as me?

Not to be selfish but my other fear is they would forget that we are celebrating our engagement at our dinners, etc.

DFi proposed 2 days before the celebration began. He had called and edited all our dinner reservations to say we were celebrating our engagement. We didn't get anything other then a few congratulations. We did have the new Just engaged buttons on as well.

So much of the Celebration thing are things you can buy. That I think it's kinda of done away with all the free stuff. If you want something I suggest going ahead and planning it.

The one special thing that we got, and that really touched us. One night at the Magic Kingdom we went and bought some mugs. We had them shipped back to the resort. I didn't open them until I got home. The cast member wrote us a note congratulating us and wishing us a Happy Engagement.

Just to be safe, I would actually take it off of everthing now and then after it happens, go to front desk, guest services etc. and have them add it back in to your ADR's etc.

I think that way the CM's won't slip about it before hand and ruin the surprise (like handing you guys the buttons at check in!) plus if you go to guest services and tell them..."we just got engaged on Main Street last night (like tell them exactly where or something) can you please add our celebration into our ADR's?" I'm sure they'll be very excited for you!

Who knows? Maybe you'll even find a surprise in your room from the resort staff or something...

HTH! :goodvibes

My DF proposed at Disney in June. The only thing you might need to consider is that they automatically give you buttons at check-in now, so if you have a note on your reservation they will probably hand you the buttons right away which would ruin the surprise. :confused3

I had booked everything for our trip, so there were no notes about engagement on anything. We wore our pins everyday and got many congrats. It was so nice, it was like being celebrities. We did get a few special little things. We were staying at the Grand Floridian and they did send us champagne and a card from Mickey one night. We got a few personalized menus, sometimes the tables were decorated, generally a nicer view at dinner. They brought us champagne at Hollywood Brown Derby. At Tutto Italia they sang us a celebration song and brought some extra whipped cream and man that cream was good, not sure if we were supposed to eat it but we did . I think they would have given us dessert but we were on the DxDP, so dessert was included anyway. At Sci-Fi they gave us souvenir cups with caramel popcorn and a card from the staff. That was really sweet and so unexpected! :cloud9:

So yes, sometimes they do little things to make it more magical, but mostly it's just the extra attention that is fun. We also did the Princess Breakfast at Norway and the princesses all made a big fuss over my ring, so that was really fun. Also be sure to go visit Minnie Mouse. She loves to look at rings since Mickey hasn't gotten her one, it's really a great interaction!

The thing is you can't expect anything, but that just makes what does happen extra fun. The only time I thought we might get something was when DF was cornered in the Emporium in MK by one of the CM's. He made us get the bride/groom hats and took pics of us in them and made us reenact our engagement and then he pretended to marry us. After that he announced us to the whole store, but he got a few things wrong and it was really embarrassing. I thought after all that he might give us the hats...but no.:lmao: So if someone corners you in the Emporium, run!

Have an awesome trip!

We JUST got back and had no problems. It was in my reservation that I was SURPRISING my DP. The lady at the Wilderness Lodge was great, she never said a word. We had ressies our 1st full day at Artist Point. They had a Sweetheart Dinner. We had personalized menus, gorgeous wine flutes to take home and we had AMAZING service from our waiter, Izzy. That evening, I surprised her, on the beach at Poly, while watching WISHES! Here's our link. You'll have no problems. Best of luck to you! BTW, after that night, EVERY reservation we had, we were congratulated and given goodies and we DEF felt the love. They were amazing!
