Anyone planning on running the WDW 2009 Marathon?

I am an avid runner and love the marathon (1/2 is my favorite distance ) and was wondering if anyone here is planning on the 09 race? Has anyone ran it and can tell me about it? I would be substituting this marathon in the place of the St. Jude's Marathon in TN.

There are tons of us here who will be running. The Goofy is already full and the half was really close to full last time I checked, so there isn't much time (if any) for registering.

Check out the Events/Competition thread. There are lots of WISHers running many different races, including the marathon.

Yes . Absolutely go visit the events thread...you'll find our very friendly running community there. Many of us run the Disney races in addition to races throughout the country!!! As someone else said, and you may already know this, Goofy is filled up but I believe the Full Marathon is still accepting registrations. They sell out really quickly because they are SOOOO much fun . I happen to love the half distance too...and plan to run the Disneyland Half and the Philadelphia Half before heading back to Disney to run the Goofy challenge again next year. Welcome!

Great! I'll check out the events area I love running, and as a mom, it's tough to get the mileage in all the time, esp. when training for a marathon

What is the "Minnie" marathon I see pics of???

It's actually a 15K race at Disney. Probably the last year they are holding it so I thought I'd go and get that Minnie medal to match the donald, mickey and goofy I have LOL!

So what races have you done? Are you registered for 2009 marathon or half at Disney? I do know how hard it is to get those miles in, I have a couple kids myself. Their schedule and my work definitely makes juggling the training very difficult..but all the more rewarding when I cross the finish line .
