Anyone on the Fantasy Eastern cruise now?

As it currently stands, there has been no reports of a change in itinerary. I take it that guests will be advised tomorrow night, at the earliest, if there was to be a change

Someone on FB posted they were going to Tortola today, then st. Thomas, but they were still scheduled for both stops.

Norwegian revised itineraries to removed st. Thomas and San Juan.

I believe that the last time fantasy was allowed to disembark in st thomas was week of December 12th when we were on it, unfortunately. I think St. Thomas is effectively closed to all cruises at this point.

That comes as no surprise. Are they just adding another sea day? (That is what they did on the 12/26 and the cruise was just way too many sea days for me.)

I'd be surprised if they can add anything really. maybe a second day in tortola? I don't think they can jog down to st. maarten - when we were there week of 12th we left st thomas on time but got into Castaway Cay over an hr late due to rough seas which I guess are normal this time of year. and san Juan is closing off too so besides st. maarten I'm not sure they have anywhere else to go that they have existing relationships with

I would assume it's extra day at sea like what happened on your sail- so sorry to hear that :( I agree with you 4 day at sea is too much.

maybe they could book it back to Castaway Cay and do two days there if the schedules of the other ships don't conflict?

Here's to hoping on our February 26 Eastern they change to Tortola instead of St Thomas if the situation hasn't changed.

Welp I am on the next Eastern Caribbean cruise for the Fantasy and was coming on here to see this since all the cruise tracking apps have the Fantasy heading to Castaway Cay as their next stop instead of St Thomas , so maybe I’ll pick an excursion in Tortola instead of St Thomas 🤷🏻‍♀️

I heard on our Cruise's FB page that Fantasy is skipping St. Thomas and heading early to Castaway Cay and will get there about 2:00pm a day early for bonus CC time. They allegedly offered $200 onboard credit per stateroom and 20% off future cruise. N

Yes. Someone mentioned that in another thread.

If Jost Van Dyke is available I would certainly do that. Soggy Dollar is unmissable in my opinion.

Wow. That beats the hell out of what other cruises are doing in terms of compensation. Royal Caribbean was like "we emailed you last week and told you stuff might get cancelled, there's no refunds or compensation unless its a refund of a shore excursion" and Carnival is like 100 dollars credit.

20% off a future cruise is NOT bad. I'd be disappointed to not go to St. Thomas - we did a snorkeling thing with some time at honeymoon beach but 200 dollars, 20% off future cruise and extra CC time? yeah um sign me up for that that's a good deal.

This exactly

Yeah I dont think planning is going to fix geography and the time space continuum on the St. Maarten thing plus - and dont shoot the messenger here on this - the situation is literally evolving in real time and its been less than a month with this disruption and there are a LOT of things outside of disney or any cruise line's control in terms of ports. If we're talking about planning for feb cruises sure but like I don't think they could have forseen St. Thomas basically deciding to nope right out of cruises.

And its in general kind of a mess with different CDC guidelines that aren't well defined in general and even though US CBP is down there they kind of do their own thing too...as someone who deals with agencies and agency law I don't really fault disney for the past few weeks at all. Again if they don't get their ducks in a row by Feb that's one thing - you've had a month to get your act together. But the past few weeks? No way.

But we were talking about the future. Now that the Fantasy has missed St. Thomas multiple times and the situation doesn't look likely to change, Disney ought to do something proactive to give us an alternate port. You don't have to break the spacetime continuum to get to St. Maarten when you plan for it in advance. It's not that far away from the Virgin Islands. And there are other alternatives, too, including Puerto Rico, Turks & Caicos, Haiti, and DR. I don't know if any of them are good alternatives, though.
