Anyone on the Fantasy Eastern cruise now?

I think the other issues is the ports can only bring in so many ships so depending on the day they may be maxed out. Also DCL is kind of particular where it docks their ships.

But we were talking about the future. Now that the Fantasy has missed St. Thomas multiple times and the situation doesn't look likely to change, Disney ought to do something proactive to give us an alternate port. You don't have to break the spacetime continuum to get to St. Maarten when you plan for it in advance. It's not that far away from the Virgin Islands. And there are other alternatives, too, including Puerto Rico, Turks & Caicos, Haiti, and DR. I don't know if any of them are good alternatives, though.

They've missed St. Thomas a total of two times now. The first of which was two weeks ago and they were literally docked expecting to get off the ship and St. Thomas told them no so they had zero notice then two weeks later which I get seems like a long time but in matters of administration it really really is like not, this week they missed it a second time, told people the night before, had a solution ready to go it sounds like which was 200 bucks, 20% off another cruise, and extra castaway cay time.

Serious question - how long do you think it takes them to negotiate agreements to go into a new port? Puerto Rico is turning people away and I dont see any existing itineraries which suggest to me they have agreements with T&C, Haiti, or DR, the latter two of which in my opinion are a side or down grade from CC and still would have produced disappointment.

I mean they have to negotiate with the ports then they have to get proposals in from vendors for shore excursions that Disney wants to offer, review those proposals, choose their first choices then send those over to be vetted and make sure they have appropriate insurance/certificates of insurance, then negotiate with those vendors. And you'd still have people upset that St. Thomas wasn't a thing.

I get that this all seems SUPER SIMPLE but guys it really isn't. Even if they wanted to do a new stop in T&C for example in March it would take an act of god outside of the pandemic to get all of those processes done in 2 months.

That comes as no surprise. Are they just adding another sea day? (That is what they did on the 12/26 and the cruise was just way too many sea days for me.)

Yeah, I was worried about there being 3 at sea days on the schedule. The fourth was definitely too many. If/when we book another cruise I'm thinking 2 at-sea days is a max for my family. Live and learn.

Still watching this for our feb cruise because we’re scheduled for st. Martin & st. Thomas. a lot can change by then.

St.Maarteen is not really doable if they swap USVI to St.Maarteen as the 2nd port of call. The arrival at CC is already fairly late (10am) when coming in from USVI and St.Maarteen adds some cruising time even at full speed... I mean, they would be able to do it if they have a relatively short stop in St.Maarteen (something like 7am-2pm might work)
