Hello

I have been bad and not been on here since last year, when I was planning my honeymoon (which ended up being delayed by 10 days due to all the hurricanes last Sept!).

Anyway, I have been sulking as I want to go back again already, but my new hubby doesn't want to go back now until we have kids and until they are about 5 years old plus, so that's about another 8 years!

I cannot wait that long but we are going to try for kids next year which means we definately can't squeeze a visit in before then.

Am sad!

Anyone in the same boat as me?

If you need to talk WDW, please email me.

Tink :flower:

Is this a good time to mention my new business venture, Rent A Holiday Child :rotfl2:

D

Hee hee...so would that be where you can borrow other people kids to take on holiday with you, or somewhere we can leave our kids (when we have them) so we can go there alone again??

Where you can borrow them to go with. Of course that would leave us parents with nothing to do but be bored all day without them ( do I sound convincing lol )

To be honest, we don't need kids to borrow as an excuse to go.
I have been 4 times, twice with kids, twice without, and both holidays were amazing for different reasons.

Hmmmm...I am dreaming that I am flying out there right now.

How many times have you been?

I have been 4, and stayed at All Star Sports, All Star Movies x 2 and Coronado Springs for the honeymoon.
It was supposed to be Animal Kingdom Lodge but due to the hurricanes we had to re-book our honeymoon completely for 10 days later than we planned, and this meant we couldn't get the Animal Kingdom Lodge (boo hoo!).

Tink, haveing just come back from DLRP with DW It's really given us the urge to go back to Orlando.
But as usual no cash and the shower has just been pouring water through the kitchen ceiling :scared1: . So while Insurance will pay for the kitchen we need a new bathroom. We've been putting it off for ages like you do.

Never mind, perhaps we'll win the Lotto. Fat chance LOL

Ah..nuts.
That's awful.
You poor things!

My hubby has been twice and does like it there, but he doesn't share my obsession with the place.

It's crazy, just yesterday I could smell something and the only word I could to describe the smell was Main Street USA and everyone at work just looked at me, but it was true.
I sniffed and immediately I was transported to Main St in my head. Those are the sort of moments that keep me going!!

Hope you get the shower sorted!

:flower:

Thanks Tink,
Once we get the fitter in we'll have a new bathroom.
for now everyone's having to have baths and shampoo over the bath like we did when we were youg.

Is'ny it funny how smells immedeately take you back to earlier memories.

Just to make you sick, Tink78, I deliberately chose not to go to WDW this year because after last year I just didn't feel I could face the humidity again (we have to go in Aug due to DH being a teacher and Easter is almost as humid plus much heavier crowds). We are going to Anaheim instead but for the last couple of months I've been really missing WDW and wishing we were going there. I'll always love it. Maybe Anaheim will be (nearly) as good but it's so much smaller and we've got to know WDW so well over the years. Well, at least I can walk where Walt once walked!!

Yeah, it will be nice for you to go where Walt once was.
Have fun.

I know what you mean about smells, I walked out of ASDA the other day and was hot by that damp Floridian smell you get after a quick shower out there. The mixed smell of humidity and tarmac I think! Sent me straight back to Orlando!!

hmmmmm humid florida smeeelllllll!!!!! :teeth:
I know what you mean - the best thing I have found so far to combat this feeling is becoming a member at Costco!! :teeth:

I am currently 6 months pregnant and we are not going to be able to go until our little one is about 5 years old. I am a bit dissapointed about this but every cloud has a silver lining as DH said that when we take kids we can stay at AKL!!! :cool1: I am very lucky in that my DH LOVES WDW as much as I do.

I am here if you want to talk!! Maybe we could start a Deprived DISers Samaritans or something!

ME!!!!

We are not going for a few years, mainly due to budget and it makes me very sad at times!!! :sad2:

However, I am lucky to have been as many times as I have and to have so many wonderful memories,

However at times. i want to stamp my foot like a child and demand to be taken to WDW!!! ;)

however, I'm hoping for a DLP trip v soon. Are you reading Simon!?

V.xxx

We will be going next when baby is just 10 months old :)

You can't start them too early is our motto :teeth:

We chose not to go back to Florida for the first time in 6 years last year since on our last trip Oct 03 we all felt rather "parked out" Nothing wrong with that - so we decided to do some different things last year and we were so pleased we did. We had a week in France May half-term and then the most brilliant time skiing in Italy for Xmas, both times with friends.

Whilst I really missed the 'thought' of not going to Florida at first (and we only EVER spend a week in Orlando, there's so much more of Florida to see than theme parks) and had 'withdrawal' symptoms, none of us missed it at all.

This trip in August is going to be our last for a few years since DD is growing up fast and there are SO many other places in the world we want to visit, including other States in the US - back over there Easter skiing, so will get my food fix :teeth:

When we went to St Lucia two years ago, it was a HUGE change to our normal type of holiday. Just sitting lazing around on a beach or at a pool was brilliant for my DH (we'd just been nursing his mother 24/7 for four weeks before she died of cancer, following doing the same for my father a year previous), this was the sort of holiday we ALL needed. My DD just loves water, so point her in the direction of a pool and she'll spend all day there. It got to the stage after we booked it that I kept saying "but it's not Florida :sad2: ". I tell you - it was one of the best holidays we've ever had and we've been very fortunate to have travelled to far flung places like Hong Kong and the Philippines and they were something pretty special). To be honest, by the time we went I was not excited, was getting quite worried about all the money we were spending for a weeks' bordedom in my views. I couldn't not have been more wrong. It wasn't Florida - it was totally different and that's why I know there are so many other places out there to explore for us.

It won't help, but if you think of the wonderful memories you've got from your previous visits, hopefully you can recapture them when you do get back out there. And things will have changed, new rides will have opened, it will be like discovering it all over again :wizard:

I really feel for you. I hate not having a Florida holiday booked and get terrible withdrawal symptoms. I will be in the same boat when we come back in November. We are planning big changes in our lives next year and I think its highly unlikely we will be going to Florida. Im simply dreading it to be honest. All my favourite internet boards are Disney based and I know I wont be able to face them :(.

After our Autumn trip, I really dont know WHEN we will be back, and that is making me feel sad already, and I still have that trip to look forward too.

There is nothing like planning a trip to Florida, and without one, I feel like Im missing a limb or something. Know exactly how you must feel and sympathise greatly. :grouphug:

Ah, bless you.
You made me smile.

Hey, at least you still have your lovely trip to plan and look forward to.
Make the most of it, and have a brill time.

I am going to do my best to win the lottery in the mean time!
LOL :rotfl2:

I am happy knowing that it's all there waiting for me to return one day (hopefully with my family when I have one).

I know how you feel.

We have only been twice so far but i want to go back.

It going to be quite a while untill we can go back, due to finances.

Then what did DH do to me the other day,he only sent me an email with florida holiday's on. :sad2: How cruel..... :confused3

I agree with Annie, while I LOVE going to Florida and WDW, there is a whole world out there with some fabulous places. We try NOT to go too often so that by the time we DO go we're really desperate.

We've had some fantastic holidays to other places, the best of which were to Grenada and the Maldives. Very different to WDW but no less wonderful - in fact possibly better.

WDW IS amazing but there is a lot more out there - and it's not as though you haven't ever been. Try somewhere else and then really look forward to your next visit - whenever it is.
