My oldest DD will be 10 in Nov. The dining plan was great last time, but I hate to pay for an adult plan for her next time. She weighs 45 lbs. so is very thin and eats about as much as her younger sister. I guess I'll price it out. Last time we enjoyed all the restaurants, but it did take up a lot of time.

We are going during free dining and we are still not going to use it.

We are stay offsite (for free) so with no hotel costs, free breakfast at the hotel and several gift cards we have rec'd to use for dinner, for us its not worth it to stay onsite just for free food. Also, we don't like to waste park time sitting in restaurants for 2 hours at a stretch. We have no problem doing CS while we are in the parks.

DD is 10 and doesn't eat much either.

I think we are going to get the dining plan and then try to pay out of pocket for her meals at the traditional restaurants. All of the members of our party are considered to be "adults" for dining purposes so I am hoping that it won't be a problem to pay OOP for either a child's meal or just an order of french fries for her (since we're not trying to use child's credits for adult meals-her credits are for adult meals). If it works out then we'll have an extra sit down meal to enjoy. If it doesn't well then we cancel our last TS of the trip and call it a day.

We're having the same problem with our son who will turn 11 in September. He still eats off the childrens' menu and often doesn't finish his meal. We're going to do the dining plan for a few days of our trip and let him choose whatever he eats - he loves shrimp. I also figure I'll make late dinner reservations if our TS meal will be dinner because he'll be hungrier from doing so much and his medicine (ADHD) will have worn off. The days we don't have the dining plan we'll figure out. We will most likely have a car while we're there so we can always go elsewhere if we find prices way too high.

We won't either. We are staying at a house and will have breakfast and another meal there. 1 meal at the park is all we will have and snacks. For us Disney isn't a great place to eat. We have much better restaurants here in NJ/NY area. JMHO
