Anyone not been to WDW and received a code/postcard???

I have signed up on Disney.com and of course got my planning videos. I don't have any record of me going to Disney before because it's always been with my family, not under my name.

My question is... has anyone ever received a postcard or email with discount rates/codes without ever having made a reservation at some point under your name at WDW?

I have often gotten postcards in the mail at my address (obviously. LOL) but to different/wrong names so I believe this proves that they send out postcards to people who have never been to WDW before.

For example, my sister's last name is Jones, my former last name is Smith, and my current last name is Brown. I've gotten postcards in the mail in all different strange name combinations, such as using MY first name but my sister's last name (my sister lives in a different state altogether, but I've ordered her gifts from sites such as Godiva.com so I am assuming that is where they got her last name and MY address from!), and I've gotten postcards in my ex-DH's wife's name "Gina Smith", and they live in a different state as well. I've even gotten postcards in my former name, even though I didn't have that last name anymore when we went to WDW.

It's obvious to me that WDW is getting names and addresses from other company's mailing lists or something.

I think *once* I got a postcard in my own correct name. LOL

March will be our first trip to WDW, but we have attempted a couple of different times. Requested the video about 3 years ago, and somewhere along the way we received a post card, but had no idea of it's usefulness. Now that we're really going, no discounts for us. So they aren't for return trippers only.

Yes, I received a code before I had even gone. All I had done was by my tickets.
