:flower: I will be staying at POP from 7/6 to 7/13 (I'm using ME so I should be leaving about 2:00pm for my 5:30pm flight). I will be taking a toaster I bought from Walmart at $6.00 and instead of lugging it back home I thought I might pass it on to someone else and they could pass it on, etc. Anyone interested let me know. First reply gets it. :teeth:

While it sounds like a good idea, bringing a toaster with with you is not a good thing. A toaster is a fire hazard in your room. They are not allowed inside the room. They provide toasters for your use in the food court. They may say something to you decide to take it with you.

last year we brought a small toaster for our bagels (no knowing it was against the rules as hotels we usually stay at have them in the rooms along with coffee makers :confused3 ) anyways we left it sitting out all 10 days and no one ever said anything to us (had they of, we would have gladly put it away). We decided to leave it in the room after we left. Well to make a long story short, about 3 months later we got a call from Disney World stating that they have a toaster from our trip and they would gladly return it to us if we still wanted. I told them to donate it to charity and they obliged. But from now on we will be leaving that stuff at home!

I feel a "if the coffee makers are in the rooms, why not a toaster" debate coming on......

No debate from me, I think it's a great idea. I think that because of the element inside and the way that certain rooms are set up...such as in a value resort where ther is just a small vanity and no real safe place for it, it become a fire hazard. I just wouldn't advise anyone to take one because they aren't really allowed. I would call and double check with the resort that you are staying at and ask if it is ok before I brought anything like that into the room.

I arrive on the July 17th and could sure use it and pass it on to the next but a tad too late to pick up

This is not the first time I have taken a small toaster with me. The last time I also left it out and was never told I couldn't bring it. I also ALWAYS unplugged it when it was not in use and I never left it on without me watching and kept it clean, just like I do at home. So short of setting it on fire myself, I don't see how it could be a fire hazard. I was just trying to help out, last time it saved me a bundle in breakfasts and I thought I could help out someone on a tight budget like me. If anyone is interested in it, pm me. I don't want to create a debate over this, it's not worth it. I will not post on this subject again.

That reminds me of last year......after the hurriciane passed through and we were allowed to walk around. We walked around POP, this lady had her door open and we saw on the little table a microwave, coffee hot pot and a large cooler type thing, we walked by again because we couldn't believe it. She was set for the 24 hour hurriciane lock down anyway!
