the cheapest I can get for the 2 of us leaving sept 27th from toronto (round trip) is $888 CDN

I can get a non stop , round trip for 2 from bufflao for $315 USD

I cannot warrant spending $500 + more to leave from toronto.

Anyone done this, let me know your experiences!

I haven't done it yet, but after much advice from this board will be doing it in October. I booked AirTran and roundtrip for 5 of us (plus 1 baby in arms) is ..... $ 966.00 US !!! Out of Pearson I paid $2500 for 4 of us in 2005 (5th was babe in arms = free) and was looking at $3000 this time!! Definetly worth the $2000 savings for us and don't require passports to travel by land to the US for now either. Good Luck!

We are from Brampton and flew out of Buffalo in January this year for the first time and I would do it again in a heartbeat. We left early morning and the ride was very simple and easy to get to, about an hour and a half. No troubles crossing the boarder. The Buffalo airport is small and easy to get around. We checked in and had a coffee and muffin before our flight. We flew United on the way there and Southwest back. Cheap, cheap, cheap!
My dad drppoed us off but they have long-term parking there as well a several hotels in the area that will shuttle you to the airport. Definately the way to go.

We're from Pickering and flying out of Buffalo when we go in August. We've never flown to Disney before, but I've flown to California on SW several times, and never had any problems. We're saving a whole heap of money doing it this way. :cool1:

We have flown out of Buffalo on many trips to WDW (and will be doing so again for our upcoming August trip) and have never had a problem. Actually we did have one (but through no fault of theirs). Last October due to the severe snow storm we were delayed a day but I had called before we left here and made new reservations for the next day.

We generally fly with Southwest Airlines and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it at all if you don't mind a "no frills" flight. Staff are great and very helpful when needed and by the looks of the pricing you have gotten it seems that it was Southwest that you were considering.

Buffalo airport is so much easier to navigate around as well. We park in the preferred parking and have had no problems.

Since it is a domestic flight you don't even go through customs. That is done at the border sitting in your car.

Hope this info helps. If you need anymore info just PM me (and it doesn't hurt that it is alot cheaper than flying out of Toronto).

In October we will have flown out of there for our 4th trip. Usually SWA buty once JetBlue, which I loved but they are usually more money.

We live in Oakville and our last two trips to WDW we have flown out of BUF. Once with Jetblue ( When they have a sale for $25 a person you cant say no) and once with Jetblue and Southwest ( long story why both carriers) and we loved Southwest. Jetblue has to win us back we flew during the Valentines day storm this year and were stranded with an infant.. good times... :sad1: But Southwest stepped up and they were awesome to fly.
Next time for us we are going southwest. Its just to expensive to fly out of Toronto for us.

We live in Burlington and will choose Buffalo hands down because of price. Timewise...between driving/border crossing or customs in airport/parking and shuttle/luggage check-in...it's about even for us. When travelling during summer we park at the BUF airport. In the winter we stay at a stay/park/fly hotel (usually the Holiday Inn Express) the night before and leave our car their during our trip. As others have said...BUF airport is easy to navigate and usually a very quick process from luggage check-in through security and to the gate. Make sure you check out the TSA website so you won't have any problems during the security check. We are leaving this Wednesday for WDW flying with Southwest. Southwest allows you to check-in online and print your boarding passes 24hrs before your flight. Your boarding pass will say "A", "B" or "C". This is the order in which you board the plane. Their aren't any pre-assigned seats. This coming Christmas we are heading back down to WDW this time on AirTran. AirTran has pre-assigned seating (at time of booking) included in their more expensive tickets but had been requiring those booking cheap seats to check-in online 24hrs ahead of flight time to choose seats. They are now offering those purchasing cheap seats the option of choosing seats at time of booking flights for about $5.00 per person each way (good deal!). If you have more questions...ask away. Have a great trip!

I live in downtown Toronto and I fly out of Buffalo. I refuse to pay the West Jet / Air Canada / Pearson airport taxes. Their fares are a little high too for my taste.

We used BUF several times when we lived in Canada a couple of years ago. No issues, easy to do, and soooo much cheaper. We usually would go down the night prior and stay in a hotel near the airport, and fly out the next morning.

Actually in the process of moving back to Canada right now, and I just bought tickets for our September trip out of Buffalo for $157 each on SW.

We live in VA right now, and it would have cost us half of that in gas to drive!

We flew out of Buffalo to MCO in May 2005 when our son was 11 months old. We decided to go down the night before our flight because we were concerned about delays at the border crossing (our son's adopted from Korea, so at that time, he was still travelling on a Korean passport with a US visa so we knew delays were possible, but not likely).

When I looked into the price of airport parking for the days we were gone, the hotel only cost us $10 more for the night, plus we had free parking, plus breakfast for the 3 of us, plus a free shuttle to and from the airport. If your flight is early to mid-morning, you might want to look into the options for hotels vs. parking at the airport. For us, it meant we could cross the border at leisure and still get a good night's sleep and also we weren't stuck doing a longish drive, then a long flight all in one day.

We live in Peterborough and have flown out of Toronto once and out of Buffalo 13 times.

You can get to the buffalo airport an hour ahead of your flight and still have time before boarding.

You can't beat the prices either.

We live in Burlington and always fly from Buffalo to WDW. We also have gone from Buffalo to Seattle, Hawaii and Las Vegas. So much cheaper and so few hassles. Plus depending on your flight times you can shop before or after. Last year we flew from Buf on 4 seperate occasions.

Stoney Creek here and always fly out of Butffalo. Flown US AIR, SWA and Air Tran. Would recommend Bufflo always. Never any issues except for weather glitches but nothing major. Customs is easy, domestic flight:thumbsup2 . Flying from Buffalo again in September with Air Tran again.

We have flown out of Buffalo twice and would definately go again. We stay at the Millenium hotel next to the Walden Galleria Mall, they have free parking if you stay with them and a free shuttle to and from the airport. It was great both times.

We're booked on SWA in September. Online price 64.19 plus varoius taxes for a total of 72.00us each one way. Total for family of 4 629.78 us return, best price from Hamilton on west jest over 2500 Can. and forced to fly out and back on a Saturday as that's the only fight to Orlando from Hamilton. west Jet out of Toronto over 3000 Can :scared1: ( all prices retun of course).
We live in Burlington and have booked the Sleep Inn at the airport in Buffalo free parking for 8 days shuttle service there and back and a free buffet breakfast (4:30 a.m. start) with taxes 105.00 us. not including DD shopping spree!
If you can go via Buffalo it pays in the end and worth the one and half hour drive there and back.:cool1:
9 weeks and counting:rolleyes1

fuzzy164 did you book your flight directly through SWA or did you go through
Expidia or Priceline?
Ps If you dont' correct my speling I wont yours. Besides what spelling mistakes. It's fine to me

we fly out of buffalo 3 to 4 times a year,,will never go out of toronto again..its been 8 years ,,we get flight ,,car ,,and part of the hotel ..for what the flight is in torornto..its a better airport,,and you clear customs at he bridge and thats it,,just get onthe plane and go

We leave next Monday on AirTran. For us, Buffalo is the only way to go. The price to fly out of Pearson would be triple what we're paying.
