I was a kid in the 90's, so not that long ago, but does anyone else kinda miss the 90's? Seems like things are SO much different now, even since just 1998 or so. The "when I was a kid thread" is cool, but specifically, I really miss the 90's!
For example, when I was young, 1996 ish, we were still in the era where you could mostly go outside with friends til dusk without worrying. Those days are gone.
Oh, and the days before Gogurt. That stuff sucks. Like Ellen Degeneres says, was there really a big mobility problem with yogurt before? We don't need portable yogurt.
I also miss the old prices of things. I understand inflation and wages sometimes catch up, but still, I remember when the movies were $5, as recently as 1999 and now it's at least $9. It's ridiculous. We're being priced out of entertainment. DVDs are too expensive - they always were - but now VHS, which is no longer even made for new things, is like $2. Go figure! I miss the 90's - it seems like every since then, a lot of things have gone downhill.
When I was a kid, scouts were still fairly popular. I was a member. Now kids are all just video-game zombies, for the most part. Not to offend anyone, but that's been my experience.
I miss the 90's! Spice girls, the ice cream truck (okay, hey, it seems less frequent these years), being carefree about being outside, etc. I just miss the 90's. The 2000's aren't the same.
Two other things are house prices and TV. I know house prices are relative but buying a house even in 2000 seems so CHEAP compared to now! Television is not the same at all, especially for kids. It's mindless, action crap!
