Anyone miss the 90's?

I was a kid in the 90's, so not that long ago, but does anyone else kinda miss the 90's? Seems like things are SO much different now, even since just 1998 or so. The "when I was a kid thread" is cool, but specifically, I really miss the 90's!

For example, when I was young, 1996 ish, we were still in the era where you could mostly go outside with friends til dusk without worrying. Those days are gone.

Oh, and the days before Gogurt. That stuff sucks. Like Ellen Degeneres says, was there really a big mobility problem with yogurt before? We don't need portable yogurt.

I also miss the old prices of things. I understand inflation and wages sometimes catch up, but still, I remember when the movies were $5, as recently as 1999 and now it's at least $9. It's ridiculous. We're being priced out of entertainment. DVDs are too expensive - they always were - but now VHS, which is no longer even made for new things, is like $2. Go figure! I miss the 90's - it seems like every since then, a lot of things have gone downhill.

When I was a kid, scouts were still fairly popular. I was a member. Now kids are all just video-game zombies, for the most part. Not to offend anyone, but that's been my experience.

I miss the 90's! Spice girls, the ice cream truck (okay, hey, it seems less frequent these years), being carefree about being outside, etc. I just miss the 90's. The 2000's aren't the same.

Two other things are house prices and TV. I know house prices are relative but buying a house even in 2000 seems so CHEAP compared to now! Television is not the same at all, especially for kids. It's mindless, action crap!

I don't remember most of the 90s. Seriously - almost everything between 1992 and 1999 is a complete blur.

and no, I wasn't smoking anything funny.

I remember pretty well some things that happened in 1998 and 1999. Almost the entire years I can remember.

1996 and 1997, bits and pieces.

Pre-1995, almost nothing.

You would think so but I really miss the "good ole days" anyway! The 90's were a lot different from now.

I honestly don't see any difference between the nineties and now. I miss the 70's :lmao:

Well, the 90's feel a lot different to me. Not huge, but a number of differences mostly in the quality of things. Stuff is cheaper quality now. Such as TV. Most of TV is junk now, in the short span of 8 years it has gone down the tubes.

I really miss the 90s.

Oh, the days of being a care-free kindergartener.

I don't miss the nineties. I did MISS them though. The first part was spent in grad school and the last part was spent trying to establish my career. That decade flew by. I probably couldn't name one hit single from the nineties. Now if you ask me about the eighties I will get very nostalgic. I spent the first half in high school and the second half in college. Those were my good old days!

There's not much I miss about the 90s, tbh. I miss the 80's more than anything.

I agree about the children's television these days..total crap. Whatever happened to quality-made INTERESTING cartoon series for kids made in Canada and/or Japan?:rotfl:

Some of my favorite cartoons growing up were either Canadian or Japanese. I really miss them.

Me too. I *missed* the 90s because I had little kids. I had no idea what transpired during that time, I was just losing my mind trying to figure out how to be a parent!

Totally a missed decade for me. Now I'm back :cool2:

I hated the 90's. Except for grunge music, ther is nothing I look back on fondly. The late 80's too.

Don't miss the '90's either. ... didn't get it, and saw nothing much come of it.

Count me in too as someone really missing the '80's. Those were the days! And nights!

I could pretty much quote the previous few posts in total agreement.

90's? What happened then???:confused3 (See what kids do to you?)
80's? When are they coming back???!!!!:cool1:

I will admit nothing significant really happened in the 90's, and things aren't hugely different, but since obviously I wasn't here in the 80's, it's all I have to go by. I can tell a difference since then and I miss the 90's :(

The only reason I miss the 90s is I miss when my kids were younger.

There aren't any big differences between 1998 and now. Movies were stil $7-8. Disney tix were $10 cheaper. That's about it. The playing outside thing was about the same as it is now.

I miss some things that happened in the 90's, but I don't miss the decade as a whole. There's not much difference between then and now IMO.
