I made an ADR for Tony's for our first day in MK because we always end up scrounging around at dinner time. I thought we'd like it, but I haven't read a single positive review of it and now I'm second guessing my ADR. Anyone like it? Where would you suggest we go instead?

We ate at Tony's in October with low expectations because of all the negative reviews. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was ok, not great, not bad.; big portions of somewhat bland, but edible italian food.
I'm a big fan of Lady and the Tramp, so I really enjoyed the decor.

I personally did not find Tony's to be very good. The food was average. Chicken parm wasn't served hot, and the gelato was freezer burnt. We found the people to rude and we felt rushed. I am trying it again in may though because for some reason my boyfriend loves it. MK has so many great QS locations. I would try one of those instead.

We ate there this past summer and enjoyed it. I was pretty nervous based on reviews read here, but am glad we stuck with it! Food was decent...not amazing, but definitely good. Atmosphere is nice & airy and our service was very good!

:sad1: I just mad an ADR for Tony's our last night at WDW, happens to be DBFs b-day. I wanted someplace nice for him, but it looks like MK has nothing in the way of good TS places. I would look somewhere else but I really want MK to be our last night and it is MNSSHP. Oh well, maybe he'll like it :confused3

We eat at Tony's on most every trip and we like it very much. Is it gourmet, no but then nothing at WDW is. The Eggplant Catasta is excellent. We've tried probably everything on the menu and have enjoyed it.

I was in the same boat as you, i was afraid to try it because of all the negative reviews. I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised! It wasn't the best, but if you don't mind Olive Garden you'll like Tony's. The decor is very cool..we got great seats too, we were in the glass room right by the window overlooking Main Street USA. :)

Their NY Strip is very tasty; DH got that for his entree and I wished I had too! I'd gotten the Chicken Parm and that was NOT so good...think The Pasta House or Fazoli's on an off night. Not inedible, but just very "meh".

We really llike Tony's. My DH says it the BEST coffee on disney property.

It is definitely worth a try IMO. I enjoyed it very much (I got a shrimp pasta) and the dessert was very good. My kiddos liked it and I found it was very convenient(right IN MK). My dh didn't care for it much though, he got the chicken parm he said it was O.K. but not great. He much preferred the chicken parm at Mama Melrose.

Take care!

Ok, I'm less upset about my booking at Tony's, gonna keep my ADR, buy SOOOO glad I read this as I would most likely end up ordering the chicken parm! I can be a picky eater and it drives DBF nuts sometimes :rotfl:

We loved Tony's!! The atmosphere was cute, but we also found the food to be good. Better than Mama Melrose's. The kids and hubby had pasta, I had some sort of sandwich. Our waiter was also super sweet

Forgot to mention the dessert- pistachio creme brulee was spectacular! Mmmmmm, Disney dining- making me hungry

We really like Tony's. We tried it 2 years ago and went back again last year and it was actually one of the best meals of our 7 day trip. The atmosphere is great and the food was good... and dessert was excellent. I agree with the pp about the pistachio creme brulee... yum, yum, yum! :) I definitely say give it a try. As you can tell from all the threads on the boards people have VERY varied opinions about all the restaurants. Not to mention some years some restaurants as just "off". We experienced that last year with O'Hana... which is one of our favorites. The meat wasn't cooked thoroughly and the food just wasn't up to the usual standards of O'hana. So you never really know what you'll get but give it a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Here's some pics - (meatballs, chicken parm, ice cream bomb & tiramisu)

DH and I liked Tony's also. We've eaten there twice. I'll see if I can remember how to import a couple pics too! :thumbsup2

We loved the walnut lemon curd cake (bottom pic). Another pic of the sketties but the baked rigatoni is in the back -- plus we liked the salad too.

I have an ADR for the 18th of April. Can't decide between the boneless short ribs or the grilled pork tenderloin. I was so set on the boneless ribs but now I dunno. Has anyone had either of these dishes from here? If so, what did you think?

Ahh, Tony's.... How I have ragged on thee before....

I dunno. As a location, it can't be beat. Talk about "prime real estate" Tony's occupies one of the best locations in all of the kingdom. I have imagined for sometime now that they are going to "re-imagine" the concept of that restaurant and raise the quality of the food along with the prices. But, that hasn't happened. Perhaps the DDP has gotten in the way.

As it is, it's sort of a low rent Olive Garden. On it's *best* nights, it's just OK. And "just OK" might be good enough. Problem is, many nights and days are far from it's best. The entrees are pre-plated and left under heat lamps for extended time periods, and there's really no excuse for that....

Pasta doesn't lend itself to sitting out under a lamp, so it's often cold and the sauces have a skin so thick you could walk across them.

Should everyone try it at least once ? Oh, I suppose so. The service is often very friendly, and you can get Lady and the Tramps "autographs" (paw prints) if you ask your server.

"This is the night, it's a beautiful night.... And they call it, "bad Italian"......

My husband and I like just about anything. We can always find something on a menu. We really didn't care for Tony's. We even like Olive Garded and Fazolli's but we didn't like Tony's. I like authentic Itallian and I like the American knock offs but Tony's still didn't do it for me. But my boss and his wife love it there. They have gone as a family twice and his wife went a third time by herself. They don't like making reservations so maybe that's why they like it.
