Anyone know what this could be? My friend's niece has a contagious

disease that my friend THOUGHT was called "cantalitis"...I'm pretty well versed in medical stuff, never heard of it and can't find anything online. SHe's 3. Have a fever, white tongue and blisters on her gums. THanks.

Could it be Oral candidiasis or thrush? Also sounds like it could hand,foot & mouth. I know you get blisters in your mouth with that.

Certainly sounds like she's got Thrush. Candidiasis. Not uncommon or a big deal. What is she taking to get rid of it? That'll tell you for sure.

I asked about both. She said not thrush and her sister swears it ended in "itis" but I really think it's Coxsackie (hand foot mouth).

The white tongue sounds like thrush (candidiasis), but the blisters sound like Coxsackie virus.

Ok, dr. told her to use mylanta on tongue...which IS used for thrush.

Well, I found this with an itis: Stomatitis or Hand Foot and Mouth Disease: This gives shallow ulcers with a white center that are very painful. These sores are surrounded by redness and look exactly like those sore you get when you bite your lip. Thrush is not painful at all.
