the deserts and such at Disney are nut free?? I have a 4.5yo ds with life threatening nut allergies and am really hoping I don't have to tell him he can't have anything at Disney!!

also wondering about mnsshp treats that are handed out.

DS has a peanut allergy and we have found all the restaurant CMs to be extrememly helpful in this matter.
Some people prefer to call the restaurants they will be eating at ahead of time. We have only done this at Ohana where we knew they had peanut dipping sauce. In general we just mention it to our servers and they inform the chef. Sometimes the chef will come out and talk to us, or other times they assure our server of what is safe for DS.
With a few questions, your DS and you shoudl be able to have a very enjoyable...and yummy, vacation.
Good luck!

The candy is the regular small candy bar type halloween candy..when we were ther it was all little nestle candy bars.

When we went last year there was all different kinds of candy and lollipops, some of the candy had nuts in it....but you would know which ones do....there were so many different kinds your DS will have no problem......besides if you all go trick or treating (like all us adults did) you will have plenty from your stash for him too!!:bounce:

My ds and I both thank you!!

Not sure if food will really matter to him but.... he's so darn excited that he's going to meet Mickey it will be nice for him to be able to experience everything!!:bounce: ::MickeyMo

thanks!

The Candy from last year was a variety of different things, Mostly things like lollipop, sweettarts, and Nestle candies, Don't forget, you can go to the stands pretty much as many times as you want as long as you get in line, So if you find a lot of nut candies, go back to the ones that were not.

As far as dining, most of the buffets have things like chicken nuggets, Mac n' cheese, hot dogs, some have pizza. These all should be safe for your son, but when in doubt, ask a server, they will be more than happy to assist you. Calling ahead for sitdown meals is also a good idea.

I hope that your sons and your visit is everything and more than he is hoping for.

Definitely ask about ingredients before ordering anything for your DS, as ingredients can vary from place to place. My DD has peanut and tree nut allergies. She could eat chicken nuggets everywhere except AKL. At AKL, they use almonds in the breading.

We went to MNSSHP in 2002, and they were giving out lots of Reese's and other nut-containing products. Perhaps there were other trick-or-treat stations that were not giving out things with nuts, but we just didn't trick-or-treat. I had ordered some Halloween candy from Vermont Nut-free Chocolate, and I brought that with me to the MK that night. I felt safer giving her that candy.

Have fun! If you have any other food allergy questions, just ask. We were just there May 15-21 and we had great experiences everywhere we ate.
