Anyone know if the walkway open from Gatwick North to the Sofitel?

Anyone know if the walk way from the terminal to the Sofitel is open at gatwick? when we were there at xmas it was closed and we had to walk to the ground floor and go via the carpark.
I know they are working on the monorail and it was all part of the modernising but we just hoping it's going to be open to save us walking around. (it wasn't the best in the snow at xmas)

Sadly no, I stayed there Wednesday night, and it was still a trip through the car park. I don't know if the walkway will be closed until the monorail opens (although I don't really understand why it would) but the signs say that the monorail will open August 2010.
