Anyone know how to get skunk smell off of a dog?

My dog Opie (lab/german sheppard/st.bernard mix) used to get skunked all the time. We finally concocted the ultimate smell remover. First, bathe him/her in Dawn dish detergent (be careful of the eyes), rinse well. Then, take a bottle of vanilla (imitation works fine and is much cheaper) and rub it in to the damp fur well. Immediately cover the dog with baking soda (a whole box for a big mutt like mine), rub it in real good. Leave him be. When completely dried, he should smell acceptable. I don't think anything will remove the smell 100%. Good luck!!!
