My Mama used to cook these at Christmas and I have tried to do one, but it ends up so salty. I know I need to soak all the salt away before cooking, but obviously there is another secret to cooking a good one. Anyone ever cooked one?

never heard of corned ham, so I looked it up and found it is the same as country cured ham.

My aunt accidentally bought 2 for Xmas. She ended up saoking them in water over nigh, then baked on in a bag with coke. The I'm not certain what she did, but she followed the package instructions she said

Is not like a country ham that has been cured. A corned ham is a fresh ham that is heavily salted which gives it the name "corned". I suppose it is a southern tradition. It is caked with salt on the outside like a crust that is washed away before cooking. It may sound "dirty" to some of you, but they are really delicious when cooked properly.
