I took german for 6.5 years but it is a language you really have to hear to learn.

I agree, I'm in my 3rd year. Good luck. If possible, I know it might be hard, but maybe you could take both?.

I'm in my 3rd year too. I agree, too. You can't just read it. My mom didn't want me to take German, but I did anyways. She wanted me to take Spanish because "I could use it a lot more" or something like that. Now, I wish I had taken Spanish because I want to work in WDW and in Florida, Spanish would really come in handy. But oh well! Good luck

I took German for 1 year, but i don't get it at all! lol~ My brother is in his 2nd year. Maybe he could help ya out.

I lived in Germany a Year and a half but I was a baby so I know some words. But my school doesn't have it and so I took spanish and I am glade I did cause you hear more Spanish since it is becoming a very well known language. But I kinda wish my school hade German to learn too.

well..ya c... im in 6th grade and evry term they make us try a different language and i tried german 1st and want 2 take it WICKED BAD!!! :earseek:

I'm starting to learn how to speack german with the help of one of the people I'm going on my secon cruise with and he lives in germany

I'm taking German for the first time this year and I love it. I took Spanish in 7th and 8th grade and I guess it was okay.. It IS useful because so many people use it, but I found Spanish to be really boring. All my friends that take German agree that it's much easier to learn than Spanish (but this is only our first year, you never know!) My teacher is planning a class trip to Germany next February.. and my school just added German 4 to its curriculum, so it is getting quite popular!

Basic words are easy, and there are a lot of cognates (words that look the same in german and english) so it's not that bad.

I HAD to take German for 6 weeks! and i hated it! i dont get it at all! i loved french though! i hated Spanish because i hated the teacher and she hated me! she looked like a dog with no ears! and i talked to much!

At my school there is germany on the class list, but there is no class. I have to take Spanish and I am in my 2nd year. Spainsh is ok, but it is boaring and hard.

yeah... it's weird... last month or so I wanted to learn German really really badly, but Every month I get a new obsession, this month its Gaelic!lol! (Yeah I tried German on the internet, you guys r right, its pretty hard learning it when u cant hear it) Next month its probably going to be portugeuse or something...i
