It's a hard and sometimes lonely road when it comes to losing weight.
We all have our reasons whether they are short term like fitting on a ride or long term like avoiding diabetes. I thought it would be great to make a thread where we could all discuss the struggle, give support and share ideas/recipes!

I'm Nikki! Currently I'm a size 16. I lost 15 lbs while pregnant due to gestational diabetes and I'm hoping to lose 30 more. My goal is to be in a size 14 by the time I visit WW of HP:wizard:. I'm currently following a sugar free low carb diet. It sucks sometimes but I know it will work. I'm also doing the INSANITY tapes.
 
Sign me up! Today is day 8 of living low carb, and I'm feeling pretty good about it. I've also started walking two miles a day, no easy feat for a lazy girl such as myself. I'm 5'4 and a size 20 on the bottom. I hope to lose 30 pounds by my Labor Day week trip, and my fingers are crossed that it'll be enough. I'll be so sad/mad/disappointed/ashamed if my kids have to ride FJ without me.
 
Glad to see some fellow low-carbers here. It's the only way for me and yes.. it's hard to stick with it. Just like any other "diet", unless you make it a life-style change, the weight comes back. It's true that "man does not live by bread alone", but oh my.. I sure miss it when I'm not supposed to eat it. ;)

I lost 80 lbs in 8 months a few years ago while low-carbing so I know it works very well for me. I find that I just don't eat very much after the first week or so cause I'm always full of high fat foods like nuts, avacados, BBQd lean cuts of meat, high fat cottage cheese, salads with real mayonnaise-based Ranch dressing, and veggies with real butter. (mmm- brocolli sounds really good right now)

What tripped me up and made me return to my bad eating habits last time was our vacation to DL. Dang Churros! One bite of the forbidden fruit, and I was a goner. :lmao:
