Anyone know a family friendly place on the New Jersey shore?

Spring Lake! We are heading there tomorrow for a three week stay. The town is very quiet and the boardwalk does not have any attractions but you are very close to Belmar and Point Pleasant if you want that kind of experience. We love it.

I second LBI. I've spent every summer on LBI and I'm happy to now do so with my 5 and 7 year olds. It's a very family friendly beach community with no boardwalk. I highly recommend it! :cool1:

OCEAN CITY hands down--been going there for over 25 years. We stay at the Impala Inn--LOVE IT!!!:thumbsup2

Ocean City, NJ is where we love to go too!! Very family friendly. Nice boardwalk with some rides, mini golf, small water park, shopping and yummy treats! The little town part on Asbury Ave is also fun with cute shops and stuff, and has family friendly events. We love the beaches as well!!! Have fun!!

if you want to go more central shore i second either point pleasant or seaside park. seaside park has nice beaches or you can drive/bike into island beach state park. i would look into renting a house anywhere on the shore over a motel. you can get a good deal sometimes and then you would save on dining out since the restaurants there are your typical suburb restaurant. spring lake is nice but can be a bit dull for children. you can drive to the point boardwalk from there but i would try to stay more towards the point area. plus there are many small towns in between point and seaside where you can stay and just drive to either boardwalk.

We used to go to Wildwood Crest....(which was nice)...until a friend of mine told us about Ocean City. SO...one day in the winter ..about 6 years ago...my husband and I scoped out the hotels in the area. Granted, a lot were closed for the season, but the 1st one we looked at was the KEEPER !!! We looked at about 4 or 5 after that, just to be fair, but NOTHING compared to our Watsons. We have been going there every year since....(we just got back on July 6th). Watson's Regency Suites...they are awesome !!! It is better than a hotel...rooms are extremely spacious, and there are small kitchens in every room.....It is one block to the beach/boardwalk, and no need to pay outrageous fees for parking every night when going to "the boards".The free parking is located underneath the building...so it is great because your car is not baking in the sun all day long.

Beach badges are included in the price.....and they have a pool that has a retractable ceiling. SO...when it is raining out and everyone's beach plans are ruined, they just close up the roof, andthe kids can still have a BALL while swimming indoors...when all outdoor plans are ruined.

Cannot recommmend this place enough...like I said , we have been going there ever since we discovered it. Oh, and there is housekeeping service included, so you come home to a nice clean, fresh room every day.

Google them for the website.think it's watsonsregencysuites.com but check to make sure.. and enjoy your trip!

We have also stayed here a few times. We do family reunions here in the winter due to the indoor pool and spaciousness. Once comment is they are individually owned. I have gotten some suites that were not kept up, very outdated with a sleep sofa that was so uncomfortable my dog wouldn't even sleep on it (not that I brought him). In the summer, I have found their rates excessive but that is just my opinion.

Good luck with your decision, OP.
