If any of you are planning on hiring a babysitter from Fairy Godmothers or Kids Night Out while you are at Disney in the next ~30 days could you get thier name for me? We will be there the first week of Feb and I would really love to have one night out with DH but my youngest DD is 3 so we can't use the Sandcastle club at BCV. That leaves us only with an "in room babysitter" option. My husband is really uncomfortable with the idea and I can understand that but I thought if I could actually get a name of someone that many of you used and recommend, that might make a difference.
thanks!
ps-I know that many posters out there are very against leaving children with a strange babysitter and I understand that but I would rather not be flamed for my interest in potentially hiring one. Thanks for your understanding!

It would be a good idea to do a search for FAiry Godmothers as there have been several times people have said names. We had Vera and I know many others have too. We used them twice and had her both times. She was awesome! We haven't used them in several years though so I am not positive if she would still be there.

I will check our receipts from last January for a name. We used Kids Nite Out last year and they were great. Our sitter works for Disney (helps a character) during the day and for Kids Nite Out at night. She was awesome. We have 3 kids and they all loved her.

We booked Kid's Nite Out on the evening of Dec 2nd and we got Jennifer. It was for my DD3, and my nephews 4 & 6. They all really liked her. She's a college student, in something child related- Teaching, Early Childhood, Something like that (can't remember). She arrived with books, toys and a movie for the kids (like they all do). My dd is quite active but loves I Spy books (which coincidently she had brought). They read the I Spy for over an hour.
we were really happy with her

How would the fact that someone here reccommended the person make you feel safer? How would you know that the babysitter themselves didn't come here and make the reccomendation?

I'm not saying this to scare you -- I do think that these programs can be good, safe choices. I haven't used them myself because I'm a single parent (getting a babysitter and going out alone seems odd to me??). I just don't see how an opinion here would make them even safer?

We used Kids Night Out on our trip in November and we had Joycie as sitter and she was wonderful. We felt very comfortable leaving our child with her! Have a great trip!

We used Kids Night Out during our trip earlier this month for our 9 yo DS (he didn't want to go to EPCOT :confused3 ). We had Joycie B and she was great. We really felt comfortable with her and he said that he had a great time talking with her while they watched the animals from our room (AKL).

We've used Marguerite at Fairy Godmothers a half-dozen or so times. She's great.

Well, in my case, scan through a few of my 2,000 messages, and it's clear I'm not a sitter.

You definitely get a feel for a person after you've read a few hundred of their messages, and you can decide then if their opinions mesh with yours.

My brain is with you, but my heart's with your husband. I'd be fine leaving my kids in a well supervised group situation, but someone I don't know alone in a bedroom with my kids? UGH.

That being said, I'm sure they are all well screened and a name off the net wouldn't make much difference.

Take the easy way out, get a first and last name on the sitter and run a criminaal check. SOme sites let you do this for free
