Anyone hearing speculation about non FL Discounts?

Just curious if anyone has heard any rumblings about ticket discounts for non-Florida residents? I know they don’t want to appear to be drawing travelers into the state due to bad PR risks, but it seems they need to do something, especially in the fall. With the cut back in hours it is definitely not going to encourage anyone to pay full price. Less shows/parades/fireworks etc, less hours, fewer dining options.... They are going to have to reach out to other states when Florida is back in school.

There may be hope for hotel discounts. When I was changing my reservations last week the CM said I should watch for discounts in the fall. He brought up the subject so maybe he‘s heard something.

It would be nice. I mean we were just about ready to buy AP's before this pandemic. We cancelled our Disneyland trip for October and decided to head to Orlando for 10 days. We love Disney and go multiple times a year but we can not even buy an AP and I cant justify spending full price on WDW resorts or tickets. We have always visited resorts on a discounted rate. Now NOTHING for out of state guest. Its frustrating. Unless something changes we will be spending our days at Universal. We have never been but a 4 day pass will cost my family of 3 $700. We would spend $1400 if we went to Disney parks! Insanity. There is just no way we are paying that for a limited experience and walking out of the parks at 6 pm. No Way.

Based on the report I was reading yesterday Universal has more visitors now than Disney....then I noticed they had discount park tickets for everyone.

We did a Universal only vacation last year (pre-COVID) and had an absolutely wonderful time. We stayed on-site so had the express pass and didn't wait in line for anything. It gave us more time to explore the parks and enjoy our resort/pool. When we came home we all commented that we didn't feel like we needed a vacation from our vacation.

I wouldn't hesitate to do a Universal vacation again. While I love Disney, Universal was just as much fun, but in a different way.

Many years ago, Harry Potter lured our kids away from Disney. We switched from every two years at WDW to every 2 years at Universal. We LOVE the two parks, their rides, the proximity of the hotels, the express pass system, etc. It is more economical in virtually every way. Nostalgia alone is the reason for visiting Disney again this year and only because our teens are about to graduate HS and we're not sure when another family vacation will be possible. It makes me nauseous when I consider how much more our Disney trip will be than what we would spend at Universal, especially considering all of the things that are cut while maintaining the same pricing! Still praying there is some sort of discount offered during our scheduled trip in October as we purchased tickets and made room reservations though UT, which has a longer cancellation policy. My expectations are low, though.
