I found the directions to make this stuff on another low carb board and tried it last night.
You take whole milk Yogurt and pour it into a strainer that has been lined with paper towels. Leave it in the fridge covered with saran wrap overnight. I couldn't believe the amount of whey that drained out this morning.
Mix the yogucheese with sweet and low, or davinchi syrups etc.
I had some this am with splenda, cocoa, and a bit of instant decaf coffee. YUM!.
Now, can someone tell me the carb count. would the count be the same as the yogurt is before it is strained or should I figure more carbs because it is more concentrated, or less because of all the whey that drained off.
Either way, it is filling and tasty. Peggie

I've never heard of Yogucheese. I don't have any idea what the carb count might be.

It was yummy? I don't care for the taste of yogurt, does the cheese have a yogurt flavor?

Now that I am in maintenance... I eat a 1/2 cup of yogurt cheese mixed with some SF Davinci Vanilla Syrup and 1/3 cup of Gram's Gourmet Flax N Nut Crunchies for breakfast at least one day a week (often more!). I love it and it is very filling and yummy.

Katholyn - Yes it tastes yogurty. It is the consistency of cream cheese but it is definitely yogurt. I personally love it.

I found a way to eat this youghcheese that is so yummy.
I can't find the Davinci syrups anywhere and I hate to order things on line so I had to substitute.
I drain the yougurt overnight then mix about 1/2 cup with a packet of Splenda. Then I mix in about 1/2 tbsp of Polaner's All Fruit Jam. It tastes just like the cream cheese and jelly sandwiches I used to eat when I was younger, without the bread. It is sinful. I know it has lots more carbs than some of the desserts and jello, but I eat it for my bfst or lunch meal and it is very filling and satisfying because it tastes so good.
It is very hard to find the whole milk yougurt around here though, the only kind I could find the other day was organic, and at over $5 for a container of yogurt I passed on that. Peggie

Once we get to mainenance, I'll have to make some of this for Wilgus. I think he would like it. Thanks for the tip!
