1) I also laughed when I heard about his statement.
2) Unfortunately, Regis doesn't get a lot of things.
3) I don't think he ever has.

Haven't yall figured out yet that the real Regis is cryogenicaly frozen in Kathy Lee Giffords pool house and has been replaced by a Disney animotronic character. The reason he made those faux pax was because he was receiving radio interference from al the new Pal Mickey dolls in the parks...
