The semi that hit me yesterday was from Equity Transportation of So. Lombard, IL. The police report has "Mackel" listed under insurance. Never heard of them!
My adjuster called the trucking company today, was transferred to the safety department, had to leave a voice mail and never heard back  . She called this afternoon asking if I wanted to proceed using my insurance and I said no, I don't really have the $500 deductible right now. I'm in a check adjustment period and go 3 weeks between checks. I said to wait until Monday and see if she hears back.
Anyone ever hear of this insurance company? I'm thinking maybe it's an independent agent that works for this trucking outfit.

I work at an insurance agency in MA..... I've heard of MARKEL Ins Co. Unfortunately, I don't remember where they are from...or if they even right auto insurance. For some reason, I'm associating boat insurance with them.

Maybe google "Markel". ?

No, I haven't heard of it.

I had a company truck hit me as well once. I called the company first thing after the accident occured, so they would know that one of their drivers hit me.

My insurance company handled it. I live in a no fault state, so its basically pay for it with your insurance, and then the two insurance companies battle it out.

The page has an agent locator. You should be able to use it to find an agent in your area, and then use him to find out what agent the trucking company uses.

I don't know.....they tend to be a niche marketer. Look at their list of products. No trucking or even anything close.

Try www.markel.ca That's the one in Canada that writes truckers.

That's a really good idea...don't know why I didn't consider a misspelling since the officer misspelled my last name in the report (had to have it fixed today).
I did find a website for the transportation company; if my adjuster doesn't get results I can EMail them. I see that 3 moving violations are their limit for drivers or 2 preventable accidents.
Ohio isn't no-fault, thank goodness!
I'm so very blessed--took pictures of the trailblazer today, the only part of the passenger side without damage was the door my DS was sitting next to!
