Anyone hear of good air deals from DC area?

Depends what airport you prefer. There are some great deals out of BWI. I personally like Dulles. Delta has pretty good rates right now and I think they are good until Nov. 19. Non-stop rt for $163 (you must book through Delta to get the discount). There are not many airlines that fly non-stop as in the past. Out of Dulles, there is United and Delta, and out of BWI, there is Southwest (who has pretty good rates right now) and Airtran who is also having a good deal. I plan to book my late october trip today on Delta (if the fare didn't go up last night). If you use Delta and book through Delta, beware that starting in September you will be flying on Song (it took the place of Delta Express). I've been watching fares out of DC since Janaury and other than BWI have some decent prices, Dulles has not had anything good (on non-stop flights). This $163 is the lowest I've seen all year. In the past we got pretty good rates, but those days seem to be over. We flew in May at a rate of $176 and in July we paid $178, so you see that $163 is looking good. Those days of $109 in September and $135 in October (all last year) seem to be gone, with new rules and restrictions. I use travelocity.com and expedia.com to compare rates, but always use the actual airline to purchase my tickets.

I, too, prefer Dulles. No hassels and so much closer to home. Thanks fo the info. We just moved here so I wasn't sure what the $ norm was to orlando. Out of Gulport, MS I was able to get a $120 rt. So if flying from here at 150ish isn't too bad. Thanks for the info. And have fun in about 12 days(? )w/your family. Stay cool?????? lol. Pam
