We are staying at Saratoga Springs in August. Has anyone been there yet? I am especially interested in convenience of transportation to parks etc. Do buses stop at the resort? I heard only at Downtown Disney. Thanks

but we used our rental car, so I can't offer any help about the bus transportation...however, I am fairly certain that they have buses going to all the resorts. The Downtown Disney bonus is that, during daylight hours, you can walk right to DTD and day or night, you can take a boat.
Our studio there was very pretty and the housekeeping was excellent. We didn't feel the theming was as strong as other Disney resorts, but it's also very new.

Yes, the busses for each theme park stop there. You can actually walk to DTD from SSR or you can catch a bus, it just may be easier to walk.

We found bus service to SSR to be excellent.

We stayed there in October. We found the bus service to be excellent. Not crowded at all, didn't have to wait long. There are actually 2 bus stops at SSR. One near the main pool area and one at the congress park section. Depending on which building you're in it's just a short walk to DTD or you can take the bus if you want but walking is much quicker. We enjoyed our stay there.

We didn't use the bus system at SSR, but just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed staying there twice. We look forward to our next trip. Hope you enjoy it, too!

We were there last week and found it to be horrible for MK! All other buses were a 20 minute or less wait.

But, I think I figured it out and it should normally not be a problem. There was construction during the day on the road to MK. We noticed this when we drove to the Contemporary late one afternoon. They had two lanes closed during the day and (i'm guessing) one bus. Since SSR is far from the MK to begin with, it was taking more time to make the round trip. :confused3

Thanks all for the help. My wife and 2 daughters are going, 7 and 3. We can hardly wait. We are also meeting my in-laws there. Which brings up my next question, how is the bar at Saratoga Springs?

We stayed there in Dec when only Congress Park was opened. The bus service was excellent!! My DS5 and I took the path and walked to DTD within 10 minutes. It was a nice walk.

The only time we took our vehicle was the first day when we went to the MK and we thought, hey we'll drive and be close.. HA, HA!!! What a waste of time, effort and walking!! The buses are the best way to go!

As we have 4 kiddos, 8,8,5,4 I can't tell you about the bar, but the blender works pretty good :)

I didn't go to the pool bar at all but if you mean the Turf Club Lounge, I liked it. Nice place to relax, they have a t.v. with sporting events, pool tables, nice view out the windows. A full bar, specialty drinks, etc. My only complaint-if you use your DDE card for 20% off of adult beverages, they have to go find a manager to run the card through, so it does take some time. But that's not just there, that's at all the bars.

I have stayed there a few times and the buses were as good as any other resort. If you just missed one for a particular park you could be waiting 20 minutes or a little more. Most of the time the busses were pretty empty except at park closing when they combined OKW people on the same buses.

Both the pool bar and the Turf Club Lounge are very nice. We especially enjoyed the TCL, as you could sit outside on the patio in the evening rather than in an air conditioned room, plus the pool table kept us busy :). Service in both bars was excellent and the staff were very friendly.
