Considering getting these for my DS6 for Christmas. Trying to buy less "stuff" this year that they never play with and instead get a few toys that they may actually use. I have 3 kids and always seem to get them the latest fad toys and no one ever plays with them. Just saw these on a website and they seem to get 5 stars from just about everyone. Just wondering if anyone on here owns these and whether your kids actually play with them. Many people say that their kids use them for a couple hours everyday. Except for the Wii, no toy in my house has ever gotten used that much.

They are quite expensive, and they're not on his list, so that is why I am a little hesitant to purchase them.

Holy mackeral, those are pricey! I'd also be interested in hearing more from people who have them. Specifically, I'd like to know the ages and genders of the kids who use them a lot.

My son played with them when he was between the ages of 2 and 6. He loved them. Now he likes Magz. Which are little magnetic balls and rods. But the tiles kept him busy for hours

Same here! Ds played with the tiles (age3-6) Ds just turned 8 and has Magz and really loves them. They really are great toys and everyone loves them! I will take them out when the cousins are over and everyone has a great time. Money well spent :thumbsup2 Fat brain sometimes has good deals on these

We have a set of 200 at our house. It is the only toy that gets played with over and over. Even the older cousins enjoy playing with them. We purchased them when my daughters were 2 and 4 - they are now 10 and 12 and still play with them. :thumbsup2

Same story here. Great building toy. Ages 2-6 they were a big hit and even the older sibling would get in on it and build things together. Now they are building Lego cities when we have a TV/video free day.

I have 3 boys aged 1, 3, and 7. They love to play with these. Pricey but worth it. I would like to get some more actually. Any deals out there?

My 7 y old loves them-- you need a lot to really keep it interesting for older kids tho. Enough to make intricate buildings.

Magna Tiles can be found in many Kindergarten classrooms. From what I have seen, it is a favorite among boys and girls and pulled out frequently.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the replies. I did go ahead & order them. They arrived yesterday in a very small box (I ordered the 100 piece set). Looks pretty unimpressive for the $$ I paid, but hopefully based on your feedback it will be a toy that he will love for a long time. I've learned that the "stuff" that is most impressive Christmas morning often has the shortest lifespan.

I see you already ordered them but just wanted to add that my son's preschool has them and they are out and being played with by a group of kids every single morning. They do seem to have a done of them - always making towers and the such with them.

My kids are well past these, but I would love to know if your kids enjoy them when they get them, can you update after Christmas? They look like something my son would have loved when he was young.

Yay! Something I can answer!

We spent $80 for our 7 year old to get a set for Christmas. He opened them on Sunday and they've been played with every single day since. We got a 100 piece lightening deal on Amazon.com.

The 3 year old and adults love them, too! They're pretty awesome!
