We are going out to dinner tonight with family to my FAVORITE Thai place...I have stayed away for the last 5 months! LOL!!!

Anyone have any suggestions to keep my dinner low cal/low fat??I will most likely get a stir fry type thing.... I plan to ask that it be cooked in less oil and have chicken instead of beef and add TONS of veggies.....

Anyone out there know about Thai food or just Asian food in general?? Any suggestions would help!

Kamy :)

My favorite thai restaurant gives you a huge scoop of steamed rice with the meal. I always ask them to only give me half of the normal portion, because rice is really really calorie dense.

Also - stay away from anything with coconut milk. It is loaded with fat and calories (but soooo good.) I think asking for extra veggies is a great idea. I think that you shouldn't restrice yourself all that much though, since you haven't been there in five months and its your favorite place.

good luck tonight, I hope this helps some!

Thank you!!!!! I think I will opt for the brown rice instead too....might help some.

Oh, I'm not help! My favorite Thai food is pad thai - loaded with rice noodles! ;)

Have a great time! I think you are ahead of the game by ordering the stir fry with loads of veggies & chicken & light on the oil. Wish I had a suggestion to help you out!

Do you know if they serve the un-fried spring rolls there? I've had spring rolls both ways at Thai restaurants before. The ones that are not fried are just wrapped in something like a wonton skin (might be a wonton skin, but I think it looked like a really thin Thai tortilla!) They were good! :)
